I just started up my Netflix account for the second time. Does anybody have any good movies they reccommend?

Life Aquatic = one of my all time favorites!!

I know a few people that really like Romper Stomper but I personally thought it was stupid! as for suggestions..

and you might think this is lame but Big Fish is one of my absolute favorite movies!

Check out: "Baise Moi" also French and more violent, explicit, and shocking, it's almost porn somethimes and forbidden in many countries, but still a very good movie.

Netflix is coming to my country (the Netherlands) later this year and I'm incredibly looking forward to this. However, I've heard reports from people in other countries such as Sweden who also have a Netflix account saying that the amount of content isn't as vast and diverse compared to the American Netflix by far. I've read some posts on Dutch internet forums concerning the inception of the Dutch Netflix where nearly everyone is hoping for it to be a service where they can watch new and popular television shows right after they've been shown on American television. I myself though am much more a "classic movie" kind of person than a series person. What I hope Netflix will be is a vast amount of lesser known movies and diverse in the sense that it will include movies from all genres and multiple parts of the world, kind of like a Spotify for movies if you will; a medium that can be used to enrich yourself with a large diversity of artistic pearls rather than a service which merely streams a meager selection of the latest Hollywood bullshit into your living room.

My question is: can anyone who is a subscriber to Netflix in a country other than the US tell me how large and diverse the content offered to you as the subscriber is? Like I said I'm mainly interested in feature-length movies. Are we talking about 50, 100, 1000 or more movies that are offered? Are these mainly features that originate from the Hollywood industry or is the content sufficiently diverse to entertain a person whose penchant is idiosyncratic, thought-provoking and obscure cinema?

That's too bad. I hope the Dutch version will be different but I doubt it. I hope Netflix will become a viable alternative to downloading over time. The advantages are legion and I'm more willing to pay for a good service.

They just removed all Viacom, MGM, Universal and Time Warner content. They removed soooo many movies and shows.

This is exactly what I strongly dislike about these streaming services, for an example Spotify too.

I agree, but in their current state these services are just too narrow and unreliable (such as how described above) in my opinion to be worth paying for. The US Netflix I actually might go for though, maybe...
