Definitely want to continue this topic!!! So glad I decided to click that link, SI. Awesome tunes. First song i listened to was Kelpy, I love this stuff! I can totally hear the AE+BOC+PLAID(!!) influence. Just in time for the CD+DVD release too!

UPDATE: This shit is so amazing. I can hear the two minds working as one here! Why is it that we dont see as many electronic duos these days? It seems like all the new guys are all singular. This music has a freshness that is hard to attain.

Aren't they AMAZING? First track I heard was Q-Bit, that had me hooked, and second, Firen--SO BEAUTIFUL!

And spot on about the meshing of two minds. It really seems to open up a door to another dimension in sound. I've been looking for someone to work with personally, but I'm terrible at long-distance projects. I wish there was someone around my area (Colorado) that could partner with me...

Loving those videos on their myspace page. Great tunes too and all from the new album. Definitely going to have to get that one now.

Personally, I love working as half of a duo. Andy and I come at our tunes from completely different angles sometimes, and the best ones are always when our approaches and sounds mesh in ways we'd never have seen by ourselves. Can understand why there are so many solo electronic artists though. It's one of the few styles of music that are do-able by one person.

well, for comparison's sake, I guess they've managed to musically "materialize" BOC's "abstract expressionism" and also trimmed off all the dark deposits too (is it possible?)... I listen to their song Ominim Rabbit (a rather somber track, similar to BOC's June 9th) but I tend to pontificate rather than sulk in gloom.. Moflex suddenly turns into a beautiful contemplation when all the while, it had you agonizing somewhat...

BUT I could be wrong.. don't know the extent of their work, so they may have their dark moments too (Saturday Index?) but so far, I'm getting a very positive vibe overall and what I've heard is good... A1 in the sound department also (goosies!) I guess many will favor their sound (a more clarified interpretation of BOC kind of stuff). Can't compare to Plaid unfortunately coz I don't know them (google-time!!.)

Will keep my eyes and ears peeled for these guys.

Holy damn indeed, this new stuff is really hitting teh sweet spot!

I remember someone in the past recommending me his other album: The Evolution of Bulbuss and The Polymorphic Nightmare but after all the hype in that thread, I was kinda disappointed when I finally listened it.

I'm going to re-evaluate the old album and check this new album for shizzle!

That's me! I emailed these guys a few days ago wondering where my new CD/DVD order was, only to be explained that 2/3 is indicating March 2nd. You silly Europeans and your numberuses.

i thought i should bump this topic! I got my copy of the autonoe vora CD/DVD in the mail yesterday. god, I love yimino. it's very reminiscent of plaid but not quite as "old school" sounding. sometimes i hear a beat that reminds me of Ae or gescom. And there are a couple of BoC moments that pop up from time to time. But I'd say that while they dont hide their influences, they are entirely their own entity. but it's cool. instead of trying to reinvent electronic music, they're just learning from the masters and making music that has true soul. this is a 10/10 album for me.

my favorite song right now is "squeeze me" this one starts with a beat that reminds me of Ae. But it is actually one of the more BoCish songs on the album I think. Then theres that guys voice all chopped up, but you can still kind of make out what hes saying. Then it goes straight into sevenhead which is another awesome song.

This album really works as a whole piece. But every song totally stands out. That's when you know you've got a really great album.

oh yeah, the dvd that comes with this is amazing too.

I listened their new album just recently and it's good indeed, but I think it does not sound as great as their other cd/eps. At least not on first listen.

But still Yimino is good stuff!

Yeah, this one is much less up-front which is why it took me a little bit. Its all about the depth of the pads here, how warm they are, and how much is going on within them. That's always been a strength of Yimino's but its really the focus here. And the beats are so crisp and punchy. Love it! The better speakers you have the more I think can be had from this one. Sounds fantastic in studio monitors.

I want to get the Autonoe Vora album but don't want to spend £17 on it which comes with a DVD as well. Anywhere I can just get the music alone?

I got that CD/DVD package but don't remember it being anywhere near that expensive! Maybe it's gone up in price or it's for sale somewhere else? Needless to say if you were to buy that package, it is awesome
