A brief search didn't come up with this artist, but apologies if she is old news.

I found a track of hers called 'Stuck' on a free animal collective mix CD that came with their new album (exclusive to Rough Trade).
It is one of those beautiful slow growers that I can't stop listening to. Had trouble loading that particular track on last fm, but maybe others will have more luck. Some other great songs with that Cocteau Twins heartbreaking dark feel to them to be found.

i just had to bump this.

Grouper is just awesome. i have fallen so totally in love with her music over the past few months.

and this is really good.

also, her new double album A I A : Alien Observer/A I A : Dream Loss is out now.

used to listen to 'dragging a dead deer up a hill' quite a lot and its a grower.

the new stuff is getting good reviews so will need to check it out.

Slightly unrelated, but when I first heard Tell Me What To Swallow by Crystal Castles I was floored...

and I've wanted to hear more music similar to that and here it is!
