1. a. I've had a lot of very profound emotional experiences while listening to BoC, but nothing that couldn't have happened were I listening to some other really awesome music.

2. d. I don't actually consider myself an addict, but smoking weed every day is more than "a little"

3. b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, k, l, and m

4. e. i'm about to graduate from college then after that i will probably enroll in tech school for some kind of IT program

5. a. i identify with a number of these groups to a degree but after high school all of those categories kind of dissolved for me, and i just became 'a person'. similarly, you couldn't (not without being intentionally simplistic and insulting) assign any of those names to any of the groups of friends i hang out with. i am fortunate to be immersed in such a group of unique and intriguing people, even if sometimes i feel like i'm a visiting biologist living in their den and studying them.

6. a.

7. b., my mood calls for all kinds of different stuff while i'm on the internet

8. l.

9. b, e, h, i, n

10. b

11. c

12. a - except replace "if it's good" with "if i'm in the mood". it doesn't have to be good.

13. a

14. a (or N/A)

docrobert i must say this quiz has some really unorthodox groups of answers, a bit different from what i would have expected. it's not bad, i kind of like it, but what's the deal? also, were you just curious or is this going to become part of a state-funded study on BoC freaks?

Hey! Alright! thanks for doing this stuff guys! There's not a whole lot more that I can do other than say that I need at least 4 more participants for this, and I will go ahead and put the data in an oven. (not to destroy it, of course)

4. b
5. I dunno, been called a yuppie before. :? But I am me, I don't try to identify with some 'group' to fit in because that isn't me. This q seems aimed at high school aged kids.
6. a
7. b but mostly electronic, some rock. (I guess you could say some boards-ish music but I never think of it that way.)
8. c I guess, I grew up that way and don't really practice. It is not that significant for me.
9. b, d, e, historical fiction and military history topics.
10. f, g, l (again I don't seek out music because it is Boards-ish, but I listen to stuff that is similar by coincidence like Christ., Decal or Gridlock just because they are in similar genres)
11. c

13. ^

Well, I had this question in here because it does apply to high schoolers, but then it also partains to anyone, because, you may try to admit it, but people still hang out in cliques.

In all actuality, there is even a clique that doesn't want to be in a clique. :?

i think you've confused cliques with some other social construct? i thought 'clique' usually referred to a tightly-knit small group of people who characteristically hang out together and to some extent regulate against outsider activity, but aren't necessarily associated with any personality type or interest? i think maybe you meant 'subculture'?

Well they are similar. But I don't think you can easily label a small group of friends with such generalized terms. Like me I pull interests from many of the categories listed. Guess I made it more complex than it needed to be. :P

Well, the problem is that a small group of friends comes together somehow. There could be multiple interests, not only in the group but in the person about why they are there, but there is some common interest that almost everyone holds for a thriving social atmosphere, such as a small group of friends.

Yet, a clique is any group where every person has an interest in the same sort of thing. I would call Twoism Forums a clique because we are all coming together to talk about Boards. So, I hope that helps you out a little bit.

Anyway, I have been seeing some patterns in the results already. The more that I look at the results from people taking the quiz, the more and more that I see this forum (to my previous assumption) is a counter-culture clique. This means that the forum defies many set values and social standards set by normal english speaking cultures.

One reason is because Boards Of Canada music encourages emotional freedom, higher echelon and psychedelic thought/imagination, and nostalgia. These things are generally not found in normal culture and could be values of our counter-culuture.
