Does anyone else get an indescribably powerful effect from listening to Dawn Chorus? Because I don't think I've been more fucked around with by a song in my life. I'm sort of new to BoC and was listening to Geogaddi for the second time tonight and when that song came on, it's just... it's hard to describe. But it literally makes me nauseous. It's gorgeous and uplifting and incredible, yet the weird female moaning in the background gives me an uneasy, uncomfortable feeling. After I listened to it I went into the other room and was overcome by a light nausea and then lightheadedness like I was about to pass out. I quickly laid down and was fine after a few minutes. The first time I heard it I became slightly nauseous right afterwards as well, so I know it's related to the song and not coincidental.

I guess I don't have all that much to say except... damn, Dawn Chorus is one of the best songs I've ever heard (despite only hearing it twice), but I'm frankly afraid to hear it again anytime soon. As pretentious as this may sound to the average person I feel like BoC do much more than just make music, there's something deeper going on there. Something that tears you apart inside in a way that's hard, if not impossible, to put into English.

Word! It's also my favourite boc track; confirmed by last.fm too apparently. Everything in this song screams boc. Love it!

the only song i have doubts about listening to is 'you could feel the sky'. beneath the track lies absolute insanity. although to be honest, the twoism ep (possibly my favourite release by BOC) has left me feeling so isolated recently...it's incredible how their work entwines around your being making them (BOC) almost an extension of your very own mind.

I always thought Dawn Chorus was the nearest BoC have ever come to sounding like My Bloody Valentine.

It's a beautiful song too. For a while it was my absolute favourite on Geogaddi.

I personally don't really have a connection with Dawn Chorus. But just like bleak, You Could Feel The Sky still freaks me out. In the summer of 2005 when I started listening to Geogaddi I often cycled from my then-girlfriend's house to my place in the middle of the night and I had to go through a small piece of forest with no houses, when I was listening to that tune on my mp3 player I barely could handle it, too creepy.

On a related note, summer 2008 I was visiting friends in Sweden, in the evening we walked through the forest, then I went home with one friend to sleep there, before I went to bed I played Slow This Bird Down on his soundsystem, I felt very small, like a deeper insight that I am just a particle in a huge universe, and I couldn't get the images of the vast and wild forest out of my head. It wasn't a particularly pleasant feeling, but afterwards I could see the beauty of it.

I always feel weird when the female moaning sounds like "Mary, Mary..."

Both songs are powerful, to be sure.

You may want to consult a doctor if you are experiencing nausea though.

Dawn chorus is my favorite one. I'm not getting any special 'feelings' from you could feel the sky though

"Basefree" is one of the loneliest songs I've ever heard. Always reminds me of walking around a lake in the evening, completely alone, during a light snow.

i have a vague memory of the big sweepy sound in Dawn Chorus that comes up right before the beat drops every time, making me really uncomfortable or ill or disturbed.

i still think it's in our heads, not some magical BoC handiwork... they're good at what they do, but we're also really suggestible and imaginative, sometimes moreso than we want to admit...

I was obsessed with Dawn Chorus for awhile when I listened to nothing but BoC. It's an amazing track really. Probably their most elaborate and complex track ever written.

The track after dawn chorus gives me the shivers and I don't think DC is even complete without the tracks before and after it. Probably the best part of the album.

Dawn Chorus is a bit creepy but it's mostly too bizarre to be really off-putting, at least to me. But You Could Feel the Sky, now there's a track with menace. That lovely peeling leather sound, the brooding bassline, the warbly distorted chorus. And of course the church bells, and snroH htiw doG... Definitely a journey through a dark place, that one.

You want to get that looked at mate. Take two Justin Timberlake CD's and have a bit of a lay down. Do not drive or opperate heavy machinery!!!

First time I heard this sing was actually only about 3 or 4 months ago. I was spending a large amount of time hanging out with this girl and popping suboxone. Listening to this song while having sex and high on semi-synthetic opiates.. its a trip!

I always get weird feelings when listening to Corsair.
I imagine a ghost ship, wandering aimlessly around the foggy ocean.
It feels so lonely.
It's quite breath-taking.

Whitewater is a dark track for me. I picture myself walking down a long blacked out path...
