Time to speculate and get hopes up again.

Long-time lurker here, but finally registered to pass along some wishful speculation. Ourtrueintent.com, website to the ATP festival, added some news today:
"The latest news on the forthcoming UK premiere of the All Tomorrow’s Parties film presented by Future Cinema is that the concert section will feature live music, bingo, DJ’s including Belle and Sebastian’s Chris Geddes, and culminating in a very special headline set from a top-secret Scottish act."
I would guess it's Mogwai, but here's to hoping for some BoC.

Um, just to name a few Scottish acts I'd guess before BoC: The Vaselines, Beta Band, Primal Scream, Arab Strap, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Proclaimers, and I could go on.
Believe me, I'd love it to be BoC, but I'm not going to bet on it when there are so many other Scottish acts it could be.

But... BOC are top secret. Those other bands aren't top secret.
If BOC do play there, my pure jealousy will leave me with no other choice than to jump off a bridge.

It won't be BOC for one very very good reason: I bought tickets.

I contest, my good man, that it WILL be BOC, for the very reason that I didn't.

Oooh. The unstoppable force versus the immovable object. It could all end in a blinding white flash!
Seriously, hope I'm wrong. I'll have to call someone on the mobile and get them to record it down the phone or something. I could even shout over the top of it yelling "What a treat" etc to give it the full BOC-live bootleg effect

You could trade those tickets on eBay. Mike Ashley might be interested

Ooooooh! That's below the belt (but probably accurate). Anyway, I have
two tickets. Even I wouldn't want to buy NUFC twice..

Well, we can hope. Personally I think it probably is BoC--I mean, if any artist is "top secret" it's them, haha.
All I know is that, if the rumor's true, they better produce DVDs for those of us who have no chance of getting to it.

They said they were going to release some films too, but that never happened (Exception being the Trans Canada Highway promo, if you'd even call it a film by necessity.)
So... /sadface

Beta Band and Arab Strap are no more, Primal Scream have no links whatsoever to ATP (and would probably be too expensive). I'd say the Fannies, Vaselines or Mogwai are most likely to be headlining - Mogwai have done enough ATP events over the years to almost be a dead cert.
The fact that you mention Proclaimers as more likely to be playing than BoC speaks volumes, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!

why can't BOC throw thier fans a bone every now and then. All we need is a few words in an update "WORKING ON ALBUM" or "PERFORMING LIVE AT (insert place here)"
MDG is helpful, but It would be better to get a confirmation directly from the band themselves
I don't care how busy you are, it could only take a few minutes do that.
I'm sure its been said before, but I just needed to vent..

you know i like not to participate whenever it comes to discussions about what BoC are doing/updates and such
but honestly
even "hi" would drive us nuts. that's all it would take. just "hi". post it on the myspace, put it as a news update on the website.
nevermind. doesn't matter. it's all good. but i'm just saying.

Well, MDG saying something
or the main page being adjusted is basically the same thing because their websites are not run by the duo themselves, but by people like MDG. Like he said recenctly, he has amongst 3 others, access to for example the official myspace site.
Other people run the boc affiliated sites. It's the duo who gives permission to others to change the pages as they see fit. I really see your point and yes it would be nice if they issued a change to their pages, but still receiving a status update from MDG over here is basically the same thing.
PS: Have you ever thought about the possibility that MDG is just an internet moniker for the duo themselves?

Was wondering that myself actually. You know something we don't Fredd? Actually, you don't have to answer that. Not a fair question.
