Raiders of the Lost Ark -> 1969 ??

Has anyone else noticed the similarities between the beginning of 1969 and the music that plays in Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indiana Jones is in the map room trying to locate the Ark of the Covenant?

I think the instrumentation is really, really, really close.
So then all it would take is a lot of modification by BoC... I hear the resemblance in the sound of the notes but not their tones. So a few pitch bends, or other trickery to suit their liking.

I didn't think it was sampled either however I wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired from. MDG?
