well, i did a search for the string 'soundtrack' and couldn't really find one about favourite soundtracks so i thought i should start one.

I love Kenji Kawai too, specially Avalon and Ghost in the Shell. By the way the Sunshine soundtrack is available now on itunes since few month.

The Solaris soundtrack by Cliff Martinez is the best youngest original and asewome soundtrack !
The signs soundtrack by James Newton Howards is more classical but what a great ambience !
Chihiro and Mononoke by Joe Hisaishi.
The Sven Libaek song's in the Life aquatic.
Ico, Silent Hill, flow, for the video games.

And John Carpenters, Ennio Morricone, Old John William, Old Danny Elfman...I certainly forgot a lot of others...[/wiki]

i'm gonna look to see if it's available somewhere other than iTunes...Apple have crossed me for the last time, so i'd rather not buy from them

Lost In Translation soundtrack is awesome.

Risky Business Soundtrack is timeless too. Tangerine Dream!

Also the score that AIR did for The Virgin Suicides is amazing. A lot of it pays attention to what Pink Floyd were doing in the early 70's.

The science of sleep, rescue me in particulair.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or I Heart Huckabees (or anything scored by Jon Brion really)

and don't forget danny elfman.

Vagrant Story (Hitoshi Sakimoto)

Hitoshi Sakimoto's unique rhytyms and inclusion of the occasional breakbeat into medieval-fantasy music lent the perfect atmosphere to the setting and story. I also love his chord progressions. Worthy Listening.

The Fountain (Clint Mansell)

I like the melodies used in this film. A lot. And having the Kronos Quartet on hand doesn't hurt either.

King's Quest 8: Mask Of Eternity

This game's music was awesome. The traditional, soothing acoustic guitar themes for Daventry and the Sylph, and the underworld song in particular are great tracks.

yeah, The Fountain has a great soundtrack, which along with the film both have quite an importance to me



i do plan on getting the rest of the tattoo finished, as soon as i can put some weight on tattooists won't touch me because of my thinness

Golden The Pony Boy.

Any soundtrack Goblin did back in the 70's was superb. In fact, most 70's and a lot of 80's horror movies had pretty cool soundtracks.

As much as I loved both Eternal Sunshine and Science of Sleep, I only remember the music in Eternal Sunshine.

Anything Tangerine Dream is good, too. My favorite is Firestarter!

Jon Brion's 'Postcard' from Eternal Sunshine, has to be the greatest soundtrack ever. It's only 24 seconds long but it sure is a beautiful listen

Shawshank Redemption and Field of Dreams, but everyone here has put up great soundtracks.
