I produce electronic music yet I wouldnt say im a pianist.Got basic keyboard skills etc.
I have also been playing Alto Saxophone since I was 13.

Ive often thought, Does a person have to be able to sight read and play an instrument to be classed as a musician? Do you see what I mean?? I bet many of us record music i.e computer music, sequencing etc but couldnt read or write a score. I guess a musician is anyone that can make a noise really. Even vocalists, right through to the triangle player. :D

I play over 10 instruments but only ever had lessons on the Violin, before having any lessons i could write tunes in my head, hear things and copy them, i never thought i was not a musician just becuase i couldnt read or write a score, my mother was a successful singer/performer for years and she still cant read or write music!!

Musicality is in the blood, some people can read and write music and play to extremely high standards yet they have no REAL musical ability.

eek i need to go, will talk more on this later

I also did tunes but quite frankly I haven't got any time anymore to make some music...

You can download all stuff @ http://fredd-e.narfum.org/mp3/

(even one original true vinyl)

Beware some stuff are like reaaaaaaally old (9 years old) (and crappy soundquality)... very nostalgic :)

And the music is most of the time harsh and raw :)

Me! I've played Piano for 6 years. I play a little bit of Guitar and a few other instruments also.

About a month ago, I got a Korg Triton Studio :D It’s so awesome! I mainly make solo piano compositions or ambient music, but depending on my mood, I'll make just about anything.

Used to use Sonar loads, and while I still use it a lot, I now mainly use Renoise (and I've been using AudioMulch a bit too).
I also use a lot of my own custom VSTs for tweaking/mangling rhythms and warping sounds.
