ive heard this before somewhere...maybe a while ago on the annoying yahoo BoC thingy that overtook my inbox, nothings legit though if we've not heard about it on here is it???

That could well be the 'alphaquest' mix of roygbiv. I always thought it was unofficial.

Its the alpha quest remix. They made it for some film student and then he let it leak into the public and they got mad at him. I think the BoC bros fessed up to it on watmm or was it the yahoo board? It was awhile ago anyways.

As for the song its basically the same as roygbiv but is extended. It sounds very grainy and 12bit like.

Well, I might as well grab this while it's hot. So this is Boc remixing themselves?

Edit: Ok, after hearing this what's so great about it? I'd rather listen to the origional with better sound quality.

Is there a source for the story of this track's origin or is it just a WATMM word of mouth thing?

I like the sample of the kids singing about half-way through.

Interesting background on that one. Wish it was higher-fi though.

I remember somebody brought up this song on WATMM and there was much speculation as to whether it was official or not. But then one of the BOC boys stepped in or rather hexagon official or godrich (sp?) and splurged the truth. It has been so long though that I cant remember whether HSOfficial or who ever it was posted the info directly on the board or had spread the work to jo rex and then joyrex posted the info.
It is real though.

hey guys.. i was just reading about this mix on the Lyrics section of the BoC pages. I am pretty intrigued, i haven't heard of this before. Could someone please PM it to me? Or put it up somewhere? I'd love to hear this!!

It's not fake. I even have scans of the DAT inlay somewhere with Twosim type handwriting on it.

A mate of said student mailed on WATMM (I think) to give more details.

Search WATMM and you'll find it all.

There was even a clip of Sesame Street's Alpha Quest bit on You Tube at one time too.
