The squeaky ball sound in Four Tet's 'Slow Jam'

That little sound on Aquarius, towards the end, when you hear the final laughter, you hear that little sound as well, behind the laughter around 5:45-46 mark. When i first heard that, i was amazed. Absolutely sick!

I always read that the dog sound was sampled from the film 'Stalker'. Have you heard otherwise?

Oh man I love that bit.

In J Dilla's Donuts there's about a million of these moments. I'll just list a few:
- Two Can Win, the jazz section (?) you can slightly hear at 0:53 and 0:58.
- The Diff'rence, where it kinda fades out, almost like it's playing through a radio at 1:00, also with this track I love the end part where it sounds like a train station, or something.
- Airworks, how it starts, then stops. Then starts again.
- Walkinonit, the bit where there's that MC sample saying '60 Skills' or something, at around 0:48
- The Twister (Huh, What), the sound of the record being pulling back, at 0:12

I could go on like this. >_>
There's a heap of these types of moments in Donuts though. If I were to list all of them I'd be here for a while.

the piano in stars of the lids 'even if you're never awake' from and their refinement of the decline makes me cry every time.

Speaking of Stars of the Lid, in the beginning of "Taco Me Manque" on the Dead Texan album, where there's a storm, and when the sampled voice says "I Feel sorry for you kid" and then the pads roll in. Damn. That's magical.

OMD's The Beginning And The End, at end of the last verse. A simple piano motif, and everything else fading down to a simple four note Mellotron choir loop. Heartbreaking.

when A and O comes up on a shuffle playlist, i never skip that song. some songs i skip, others i don't.

That's interesting. In this interview Adam says it's his dog "Frog". Either way it's a beautiful warm and fuzzy moment.

And yes, Even If You're Never Awake is just sublime, as is The Dead Texan record too. Basically I'm just one big Adam Wiltzie and Brian McBride fanboy - lol

i have to agree with all the sotl moments mentioned so far.

a favourite of mine is the hi-hats that start at 3.10 in an eagle in your mind, it simply takes the track to another level for me!
