Well.. what do you mean by chill?
If you're talking just real mellow downbeat I'd recommend folks like Bonobo and Thievery Corporation and.. if you like hip-hop.. DJ Cam's Mad Blunted Jazz is a great chill album.
If you're talking about "I want to pass out" kind of music.. Helios is GREAT for that, Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2.......
I'm sure there's more. But I gotta study for a philosophy exam or my professor is going to offer me my butt on a plate.
OH YEAH... and EVERYONE should check out Wax Poetic's "Angel" if they haven't already... the Thievery Corporation remix of it is quite nice as well.

'Moon Safari' by 'Air' is one of the landmark chill-out albums of all time! If you haven't heard it then GET IT NOW!

Agreed. In fact, get everything Air has done, one of my favorite bands.

If we're talking about real chill out albums, the classics are Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works, The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld and (of course) KLF's Chill Out.
But I assume you're searching for some nice sweet tunes to "chill out" at 4AM after a long sleepless night... and "chill out" is not a genre, it's a certain mood at a certain hour...

My 3 favorites are "Smoke & Mirrors", "Ghostwriter", and "Chicken-Bone-Circuit"
Also I think the track "Making Days Longer" off his second album is the best thing RJ's done so far.

Underworld_Second Toughest In The Infants is a good technoalbum, but not too chill out.

you think so? well, i got jon hopkins' stuff fairly easily from the just music download shop:
http://www.clearingmusic.com/justmusic/shop/
and secede's "bye bye gridlock traffic" can be found at bleep.com
the tryshasla cd is worth ordering from europe no doubt, right now you can buy all three sending orb cds directly from the label relatively cheaply
hope that helps!
