The version of this track from the Mask 500/200 whatever that i have seems to be totally different to the one thats on youtube

The one i have is a lot more crunchy and doesnt have that lush synth running through it like the youtube 'version', help me out here i cant find a version of this one on MP3 anywhere. Whats the story with this one?

it just sounds like the one from MASK 500 except that it's been fucked with by youtube's terrible audio compression and normalisation.

This is the BoC remix of Midas Touch... There is another track on MASK500 by someone called 'Jacobean' that some people think is BoC as another alias. I have my doubts.

The Jacobean one is quite nice, whoever it is. Interesting thing I noticed about that, though - the children's rhyme in the song was also used in an Incredible String Band song called Ducks on a Pond:

It's definitely not the same recording, as it's not children singing it in the ISB version. But given BoC's known admiration of ISB, it's an intriguing coincidence.

The song is off the album Wee Tam and the Big Huge, whose cover is a bit similar to one of BoC's photos:

I went fishing this weekend and had this goddamn track stuck in my head the entire time thanks to this thread.

Never heard that track before, it's pretty good! Can clearly hear its boc, just sounds a bit more mainstream with the singing in it. Cool track tho.

Apparently this is almost a year old, but I never saw it before - someone recut the original Midas Touch video to the HI remix, they did quite a good job with it. Classic 80's music video goodness

I have no doubts, that Jacobean is a BoC-related group.

Hey all - sorry to dig up a 12 year old post, but I've been really cycling through all the tracks on the Mask500 album again recently; the Autechre remix is especially amazing.

Hard to find these anywhere but youtube (with poor audio), and I'm sure we'll never see them on Spotify or the like due to licensing, so I'm curious if anyone might have a vinly rip of this (if that's cool to ask?). If not, just enjoy AE's banger:

Thanks! Had come across that, was hoping someone would have a lead on some digital files so I can listen without youtube... had found some rips of the other mask comps but not this one.
