MHTRTC Skam version?

hello

do you know if some copies of the MHTRTC album were released with a braille sticker?

I remember some time ago there was an auction on eBay of the album on cd with the sticker

I bought my copy from warp around late 2001, I think there was a sale and it was just 5 pounds

does it exist a version with only the Skam logo?

any thoughts are welcomed, thanks

i can at least confirm that my vinyl version of MHTRTC has a SKAM braille sticker on the front.

i believe that all incarnations of MHTRTC were a joint release by SKAM and Warp, and i don't believe that there was a separate release done by SKAM alone.

hope this helps

I have three copies of MHTRTC:

The digipak re-release by skam and warp recently, the Matador jewel case US release from a few years ago, and on vinyl (I'm not sure which pressing).

The vinyl is the only one with a braille sticker. I've never seen it on any CDs.

So far as I am aware only the first pressing of the vinyl has the braille.

I'm fairly sure this is not true. I bought the vinyl first pressing about 3 or 4 months after it came out in 1998, and it has no braille sticker. Two friends of mine also have vinyl copies, bought around the same time, and neither of theirs has the braille sticker either. The only places I've seen this mentioned is on Discogs, and on here. I don't know what edition or pressing of MHTRTC first included the braille sticker(and I stand to be corrected), but as far as I'm concerned, it wasn't on the first pressings.

i believe i have a theory about this.

We have two conflicting accounts regarding first pressings: those with the Braille sticker and those without.

considering that this was a joint release by SKAM and Warp Records, would it be safe to assume that only the copies sold and distributed directly from SKAM would have the Braille sticker, since the sticker is their trademark after all?

Maybe they ran out of stickers? I got mine the week before it was officially released so it's 100% 1st run and it has the braille sticker, but like the last post, the braille is a skam thing rather than a warp thing so that sounds like the most likely explanation. I bought mine in Bradford, maybe it's copies that were only distributed in the North of England...

Now that sounds more like it. It would make sense that Skam would try and differentiate their versions from Warps with the Braille stickers, or maybe they just had some over from the 'Aquarius' single. Either way, I think this is the most likely explanation.

probably only the copies distributed directly by Skam have the sticker

those with the sticker could confirm if this braille is the same as yours?

thanks for all the replies!

yeah that's exactly the same as on my LP version. it looks like the theory that only Skam distributed copies have the Braille sticker is correct.

i have posted a question regarding this situation on Discogs hoping that someone else might be able to chip in with this.

if it can be proved corroborated, then we have another little discovery solved :)
