What did everyone think of the Wolf Cub/Moth split?
personally i didn't really give four-tet that much attention beforehand.

What is everyones favorite Burial release?
for me its been Untrue lately, those vocals start to reverb in your brain and get stuck there..

I didn't catch the Wolf Cub/Moth split - but have been a fan of four tet for a while; rate everything ecstatic as his best.

As for Burial, I gotta say... I've only heard Untrue, got it after widespread recommendations, but either I haven't yet clicked with it or its unclickable for me. The way I feel towards the album -recurrently so when I give the it more shots- is that Burial overuses things in his palette, or uses very very similar things - and the whole thing just doesn't do anything for me

Like I say, I keep returning to it to give it a shot - and hope one day i'll enjoy it. But that's just it; I don't enjoy it @_@

it didn't click with me honestly until i listened to it on loop a couple times. it really clicks if you are just walking around not paying it much attention constantly, then you go back to pick a song and they all sound like angels singing. he does use the same tools over and over, but with the minor details that he adds in everytime it just steadily becomes more and more amazing.

i do agree on the clicking point, it took me almost a year from the first time i heard his self-title until i actually came back to it and figured id just loop it on my ipod. that did the trick.

yeh, sorry but i tend to shy away in terms of jumping old threads.
i rather enjoy the conversation that comes up in new ones,

especially since it was mostly regarding his 2009 release with four-tet.

sorry, but Goiter Sanchez is right here...it is in the rules (and is generally an upheld rule in most forums) that you search the board to see if there's already a thread that is pertinent to the discussion.

it is generally relaxed around here, but with a topic that would blatantly already have been covered here, you should really be posting in the existing thread.

unfortunately the only difference between posting in the old thread and posting in a new thread is that you'll get "new conversation" in the form of people telling you to search the board

i first heard of him when i listened to Archangel off of the Mary Anne Hobbes BBC1 radio show. been hooked ever since. his use of old r & b vocals mixed with his lonesome ambience and atmospheres and broke down beats make such an emotional impact. you start to remember the loneliness of life and the self awareness of being alone in that subway pipeline. really hits you hard when you get it. Untrue will always be one of my favourite records of all time.

Burial is such a great musician. There is so much depth and complexity to his music. So much is going on, but it meshes so well. The sounds always keep you guessing and never lose their replay value. He captures a certain tone so consistently throughout his music. Definitely my second favorite musician.

I'm really not being able to get past Street Halo. How amazing it is! I'm loving it as much as In a Beautiful Place out in the Country.

stolen dog is one of Burial's best.

I love how the tracks on the EP extend and stretch out, becoming minimalist dark hypnotic jams.
It shows an evolution from Untrue yet retaining very close to his style.

WOW!!!! THIS IS REALLY GOOD. I've been waiting on the Massive Attack Vs Burial records since they were announced! Kind of bummed they only worked out two tracks together because I really thought Burial was going to do what Mad Professor did to their Protection album back in the day..but OH MY GOD this track is gorgeous!!

I am also upset that I didn't catch this sooner. I want the vinyl, dammit!!!!!!!!!!!! The Atlas Air one is ACE looking and sounding.

I can't believe it is already sold out! I'm so glad I was able to order my copy. £25, but anything burial touches can't be too expensive for me

And if the other Burial collabs are anything to go by the vinyl will be worth at least double that in a matter of weeks/months. Wish I hadn't missed out on the pre-order, tracks sound amazing.
