to cut or not to cut, that is the hair question

i've been growing my hair solidly for almost two years now, and while i do like my hair as it is...i've been continually toying with the idea of cutting it again.
trouble is, whenever i cut it after it's been long, i always regret it
right now my hair is the longest it's ever been, and the only thing that's stopped me from cutting it is the fact that it's taken me almost 2 years to grow.
meh, i'm ranting.
anyone else have a hair conundrum?

I have long hair, and I always want it longer. I don't cut it more than a few inches, then It grows back in no time. I personally would never cut my hair short again.

It's like the saying goes, Long hair doesn't cost a thing, if you can afford it! A fellow long hair myself, I am enjoying mine while it's still here.

I've been in your conundrum many times dude, and it seems whenever I cut my hair short i immensely regret it and it takes like a year and a half to get it back to where I'm happy with it. As for me I think I give up on short hairstyles, it's long hair all the way.

Don't cut it!
I had fairly long hair last summer, and then I spent last year and this year slowly trimming it down (don't ask me why I slowly cut it). It was nice to have short hair for the summer, but I miss my old long hair. I'm now in the process of growing it back out, but it takes such a long time. I'd say only cut it if it's really bothering you, otherwise you'll most likely regret it.

yeah, i get exactly the same way too.
it's the back that's really starting to annoy me - it seems longer than the rest because it's not been styled since i shaved my head with a razor back in december 2007. i'll probably just get the back cut and the rest tidied up a little.
with regard to shorter styles, i usually end up putting copious amounts of hair product in, which is not really conducive when wanting to listen to music using headphones! so the practicality of shorter hair for me isn't really great at the moment

Same here, I'm actually growing my hair out from the last really rather terrible cut I got so the back is a few inches longer than the front. I'm planning on doing what you mentioned - getting the back trimmed into shape with the rest of it and just getting the rest snipped for split ends or whatever.

Cut it

I always get 'iffy' after a haircut, but within a week I look at how long my hair was before, and I have no regrets. Hair grows back. It's a good exercise in letting go. Even if it's just symbolic.

yeah that's how the head shaving came about, i shave my head when there's a significant change in my life, usually one that's for the worse

I think that after you get a haircut you'll feel so refreshed you'll wonder why you grew your hair so long in the first place. That's how it was for me anyway.

I don't think I'd look very good with shorter hair.. Haircuts are like 20 bucks anyways..
Man my father... He's always hinting for me to get it cut.. Honestly if its not in my eyes I'm fine with however it is.

Was looking back at a picture of me with long hair the other day, god i looked awful!

My hair is seriously long now, not cut it for about two years. Most certainly been toying with the idea of cutting it, but in what style? And how short? Arghhhh!

I cut my own hair and I like it short short. I use two mirrors to get the back of my head. There's an art to it really.

I always dread getting my yearly haircut, but afterward it always feels very freeing. Don't be afraid to cut it, it'll always grow back
plus having long hair can be a pain sometimes

Regarding your nickname I thought you would be opposed against cutting of any sort
