Calling off work!

Anybody slip in a "sick day" here and there? I try to get one in every month and a half or so. They're usually my most productive days and my personal time means more to me than any amount of money because I'm able to live within my means.
Anybody have any good sick day excuses? Tips on getting past that "oh shit they're gonna fire me" feeling?
And yes, I'm not feeling well today... cough cough sputter

Just chug a bottle of DXM-infused cough syrup..and soon you wont be in any shape to do
ANYTHING. Then you can call in and be like "I'm on these meds and they've got me all doped up arghhh" etc etc...possibly a perfect plan.
As for myself, the last 8 months have been a long-ass sick day. Getting back to work after a down period is so frustrating....

Man, I haven't dexxed in almost 6 years! However, lately I've been drinking beer and capping it off with a little cough syrup. I sleep like a baby!

Just try a bout of
labyrinthitis like I currently have (second time in 14 months)
Man, you'll be so dizzy you won't know which of the 3 phones you can see to aim for when you need to call in sick. You know on the old Tom and Jerry cartoons when they see stars/birds with the tweeting noise? That's been my World for a week now. Last time it lasted 7 f**king weeks

The last time I called in sick at work was on my birthday. I thought i'd spend the day relaxing. While on my way home from getting a haircut I totaled my truck.

nah, unfortunately i have a pretty low level job as a delivery driver, so we gotta find our own replacement whether we're sick or dead or on the moon, otherwise it's counted as a no-show
however i did get the past two weekends off (i only work saturdays and sundays while i'm in school) thanks to two back-to-back vacations. does that count? i -basically- dodged work to go snowboarding for two weeks

I'm a student so I just don't go to class.
When I'm working though I can often find a friend on my dorm floor to take a shift for me.

Eat some moldy meat, puke and shit for an hour then do what you gotta do. Lucky I have a nice job that will let me take personal days whenever.

I work on a computer all day so migraine/ stress headache has been a good one for me, "I've got the curtains drawn and I'm wearing sunglasses, I can't even look at the clock to see what time it is never mind sit at a computer and design anything, I'd be use nor ornament to you so rather than waste everyone's time and money I'm gonna have to call off today." I hated my last job so much though that by the end I would phone in and just say "I'm not coming into work today because I hate it and it makes me want to jump in front of a bus just thinking about it." You only get away with that a couple of times though before you get a telling off.
