My word, that is incredible! Makes me want to give up making music haha. Nah only joking, the one he does of Voodoo People is even more impressive in my opinion! Who'd have thought that 'violin' sample was in fact from Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin?

EDIT: after suspending my disbelief, i have found a certain respect for the author of this video. his beat chopping is superb. to develop an ear for editing and dissecting audio in this fashion requires above average dedication, in the very least.

i also enjoyed the cheeky, bobbling bastardizations of liam howlett & co. makes me wonder what their reaction would be!

Some of you guys are into music making so perhaps you can tell me how Liam did it.. VooDoo people is from 1995 and there were only 4.86 PCs back then.. how did he looped, cutted and arrange all the samples?

He really used Bulls on Parade by RATM on Smack My Bitch Up? Never knew that!

And I'd never have spotted that Jimmy Page riff in Voodoo People if I lived to be about 3 million. Awesome find.

well, i don't actually know, but i'm guessing the samples used are credited on the albums. still, he gets the synth sounds so perfect and when he edits that sample of rage against the machine, pffff... crazy.

That was a very cool video. I don't know anything about the band but my guess is if he wasn't using a computer he must have been using hardware samplers and stretched/pitch shifted the audio manually.

Well see that's the thing. All of that could be done with Logic in a fairly short amount of time with little to no headache.

maybe its the realisation of how much detail goes into a song, I dunno
I, myself, don't really care about how well someone can produce something... I'm more of an aesthatic/idea kinda guy.

Okay, well I can see the big deal over the idea I suppose.

I was coming from a production standpoint, where there are far more difficult and interesting things to be done. So I guess that makes all the difference in the realization about what is amazing.

That idea, and implementation is quite awesome. But for me, the production is less than interesting.
