After someone recommended him on a boC thread, I've downloaded a couple of EPs... is this all that's available? I'm absolutely loving 'Life of Leisure' EP. Really Summer-y. Great stuff.

Life of Lesuire is fantastic. I love 'You'll see it'.
The guys voice reminds me a little of Casey Spooner's. But more..washed out.

Yeah i done the same thing a couple of things ago when i seen it in the other thread
I Am Amazed by his music and his samples are fucking spot on

It really feels like the 80s when i listen to some of his tunes

where did you download them??

i looked and from what i found i thought they were only available on vinyl or cassette.

i swear to god someday, SOMEHOW, i will ruin EVERYTHING for vinyl enthusiasts. their influence makes so much awesome music unavailable to me just because i'm not interested in their retro hardware fetish.

I think it was s7409651 that posted about Washed Out in another thread, i followed it up and im just loving his sounds. His "Small Black" remix is awesome.

I still cant find Summer 2009 though

Summer 2009 is just Life of Leisure without the track "Hold Out".
it's much better to get that ep.

Ah thanks, I thought it was all new material. I've already got Life of Leasure, and totaly loveing it.

Washed Out is incredible. The music is so beautifully nostalgic and dare I say psychedelic. Feel it All Around, Belong, and Olivia are my favorites right now. I find it interesting how he produced a limited release for a few of the songs on cassette.

Just searched this topic. So glad this guy has been mentioned, especially 'Life of Leisure' EP. New Theory and Feel It All Around are just... Wow.

I love the sound he was able to get out of processed samples, but I hate that he didn't actually write his best songs.

Being that the results work well, I wouldn't be as bothered by his use of barely-modified samples for entire songs if it weren't for the heaps of initial press calling him a "brilliant multi-instrumentalist", and his faux-naive statements that his music coincidentally "just started to have that same kind of laid-back 80s-throwback feel", neglecting to mention the now-obvious reason it sounded so much like something out of the 80s.

I think you are referring to "Despicable Dogs" right? His remix is miles ahead of the original.

I'd like to cast a vote for "Good Luck" off of his High Times cassette and for "You and I" from the Adult Swim Singles Program. Both are fantastic.

I'd love a new LP from him!
