Is there any BoC songs that you just don't get?

Or just don't like?

Staying away from old tunes...

interested to hear some sort of debate on tunes that you don't quite understand or don't like for any reason. It's very hard for me, I love just about everything they've done, but if I was to say one song, it would be:

The Devil Is In The Details

Rue the Whirl

Same. Weakest song on their official releases IMO.

I love Rue the Whirl, but I only really love it for about a minute. And I can't say I like the ending, either.

House Of Abin'adab. Awful. Just awful. Same here on Rue the Whirl.

I agree again. I can't think of another one though, even the seven second tracks are just so intriguing.

Really don't like Smokes Quantity - the second bit at the middle of the track is good but not the front bit - it's awful and reminds me of some kind illnes or someone's death X_X

The same story about The Beach at redpoint.

Also dislike the Dawn Chorus - at first listening i was like but now it's annoying (

No way man. I used to have that track down as not a favourite on the album, but it is totally awesome really.... (in Snufkin's mind)

As I've said about a hundred-odd times elsewhere, I'm really just not a big fan of Basefree.

And I've gone back-and-forth on Smokes Quantity - I like it sometimes, but other times it's kinda nauseating (not in the "i hate it so much i have to use the word nauseating" way, but in the actual, dizziness-inducing literal meaning of the word).

 dude, rue the whirl, chromakey, and dawn chorus are 3 of my favorites.

basefree is the only one i skip. feels difficult and out of place on that album.

I absolutely love rue the whirl. Definitely one of my favourite boc tracks.

I tend to skip Dayvan Cowboy though. I loved it in the beginning. But something about the song does not feel right anymore. I think it has to to do with it being their most commercial song... it's a downer to me.

Zeotrope has always been blah to me.

Three of my top ten! I can understand about the Smokes Quantity though, but I just love those 'start and stop' drums.

Actually yeah, it's Dayvan Cowboy. I had the same experience. Totally loved the track when it first came out, and I probably listened to it a bit too much and kinda 'killed' it in that way. In contrast, I have found that no matter how much I listen to any other BOC track (and this has been true of more than a decade now...) I can never 'kill' them and not want to listen to them again, or get sick of their vibe etc... Sure there are some I like more than others, but Dayvan is the one that got killed for me... :/

However, all my skipping of it was a while ago and i'm getting back into it again now.. the time of killed-ness has mayhaps passed -_-
