Gatekeeper samples BoC

I know some of you guys are familiar with Games, one half of which is Oneohtrix Point Never. On their new EP "That We Can Play" The last track is a remix of the AMAZING "Strawberry Skies" done by Gatekeeper. You don't have to listen too far into the track to hear the sample!

I totally love both versions of this track, as well as pretty every other song that Games and Gatekeeper have put out. They totally rock it.

ive really been digging this games ep for the last couple weeks, and that playstation sample is total nostalgia every time i hear it

See I'm digging this but I totally ignored it when it came up on Bleep because of the "1001 clip art flags CD from 1996" artwork. Seriously, is that a retro thing I'm just too old not to get?

yeah, I agree that the cover is pretty generic and I'm not sure how it relates to the music. but yeah, this EP is fantastic. my favorite track has got to be MIDI Drift.

the artwork's by this guy "megazord" who seems to posses some kind of a "so fucked-up-god-awful-its-kinda-cool thing."
i think its something to do with the kitsch of technology, digital clip art, and growing up in the age of information.

i wish this cover didn't exist anymore. the cover for the Everything is Working/Heartlands 7" is so much better.
fortunately, the crappy cover doesn't take away from the quality of the music. shit is top-notch.

the entire purpose of the cover is its tackiness. if you get the chance to examine the project it'll make a lot more sense. it's all about having an aesthetic; don't let the cover make you shy away from it! if you're not convinced, listen to OPN's newest album "Returnal". you may also want to check out the things he's done as "sunsetcorp" on YouTube.

NO you guys the cover is perfect. it fits so wonderfully well. it has that BoC-like quality of feeling like an ACTUAL ARTEFACT of the aesthetic that the music is alluding to. Like how holding MHTRTC felt like actually holding some washed out old 70s psychedelia record, and not something from 1998. It's the same principle at work. And it works wonders.
