BoC & DMT

Hey Folks,
yes, I know, I always come up with those Boc & Psychedelics threads. :)
But I really am interested in your experiences with DMT (either way of ingestion) & Boards of Canada's magical sounds.

My life has finally changed last november 2010, when I first smoked/vaped extracted pure Dimethyltryptamin, the spirit molecule. This discovery and a very highly - 3hrs Ego loss including- MAOi Psilocybin experience plus the teachings of Eckart Tolle helped me to discover the Ego driven life I spent 35years long.

But I wanted to talk about listening to BoC while under the influence of DMT.
My first vaped DMT experience took place with a moderate dose(but incl. Ego loss & a so called 'Hyperspace' experience) and BoC's Poppy Seed Remix which I surely knew before but never really found that pure beauty and magic it offers. We heart the vinyl and its so perfect to hear vinyl with smoked/vaped DMT cause the experience is so short, you won't have to flip the record. (which is usually close to impossible on a strong psychedelic journey)
Poppy seed induced so vivid, colorful, fractal & beautiful visuals of a never seen clarity and so 3dimensional and real. I felt so much loved by the surrounding living soundscapes, BoCs musical soundwaves are absolutely pure organic and alive. And there was an entity, a female being who showed me the universe and molecules and other scientific secrets.

I've since then vaped a lot of times DMT and though I prefer to have silence when travelling on it, with lower dosages its so beautiful what kind of magic BoCs music and DMT bring out when fusing together, so unbelieveable.

So far I listened to Aquarius, Nlogax, Hi-Scores, Everything you do... Each of them is creating so unbelieveable visuals, undescribeable and so magical.

I am curious if there are others out there who know of the combination.

Kind regards, olli

hannah montana would have that 'unbelieveable visuals, undescribeable and so magical' too, and that's why drugs are illegal.

The problem with DMT is that the experience defragments like when wake up from a dream. I've done it plenty, but recalling the experience in detail is nearly pointless and the immediate gains I got from it afterwards sort of faded after about a months time. Though I've only smoked it, perhaps the experience and retention of said experience is different with other methods of indigestion.

I've never touched DMT myself, but I imagine it would do as it's cousins are purported to do and make BoC better (as well as be enhanced by BoC itself)

That's an interesting account, thanks for sharing that, and congratulations on figuring yourself out. I just finished Strassman's book, but have not had a chance at trying it myself. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure I'd be able to integrate an experience as strong as dmt. It sounds beautiful really, but I do think that once I came down, my views on life would be so profoundly altered that I'd be loony forever--completely lose touch... High doses of sid, sure, but I think it would be a bit much for me at this point.

It seems dmt has a way of prying open your life exactly in areas that you don't really want to acknowledge, and the whole experience is about your journey to regain the most relevant perspectives you possibly can before it's over. I suppose that's the same as with any psychedelic voyage.

I imagine it to be extremely tiring for your psyche, and as mentioned, your ego. It would take years for me to prepare for an experience like that. It's not something I'd gobble up at a house party. It seems most people have trouble remembering more than an overall theme from a trip like that, or maybe that essence is all I'd need to learn?

the closest i'll ever come to DMT would be watching Enter The Void.

Shrooms & BOC to me just seem like the perfect combo. Like an event.

Interesting experiences, Olli, glad that you have found DMT to be such a beautiful experience.
I think to really judge an experience like that of DMT, one must go through the experience yourself. @Kinski Who knows whether Hannah Montana's music would be beautiful on DMT. Perhaps, perhaps not. I've experienced occasions when I felt I could recognize objective beauty in music under the influence of psychedelics (i.e. I could listen to one song and deem it objectively beautiful based upon a series of arguments, and I could "see" the inherent lack of taste, beauty, or truth in another song, based on the same arguments). What I'm trying to say is that a psychedelic experience doesn't *necessarily* make everything beautiful. But in the case of DMT, perhaps the experience is so beautiful in itself that everything heard from within the experience is felt to be beautiful as well, and that is quite possible too. As I said before, I don't think anyone can judge it until they've done it themselves

I think personally, I share Zeitgeist's sentiments somewhat. I heard it said once that before an ego should be dissolved, it's better that it should first be strong, so that the person does not lose his sense of self upon returning from ego loss. That's why it's not encouraged to give children (who have un- or under-developed egos) psychedelics--if they were to use them during the development of their psyches, imagine how loony they would become. DMT being the crucial psychoactive element in ayahuasca (in addition to the MAO-A inhibitor), I think I would venture a guided ayahuasca ceremony myself before inhaling it pure.

To each his own. I'm glad that Olli has the necessary means to experience DMT without adverse effects and enjoy the experience it gives him. I can't even begin to imagine what an amazing experience it is.

And by the way, @Kinski, drugs in general AREN'T illegal. Only some are; notably, some that are highly addictive (like heroin), and some that have the potential to enlighten you (psychedelics) or relax you (marijuana, at least in the USA). In fact, drugs like LSD or MDMA, which have been found in case studies to provide worlds of healing in therapeutic use, are a class A drugs (highly illegal) and are not even available to therapists to use. It's interesting to note that many of the illegal drugs are purely natural, growing in the ground. On the other hand, there is a variety of legal, manufactured drugs (mostly pharmaceuticals) that will fuck you up big time, can induce life-threatening neurological or other diseases (look at Seroquel), can introduce psychoses, and yes, can even kill you by overdose. It's only up to what makes those in power profit that makes certain drugs legal and others not. I personally believe that drugs such as LSD are a threat to the modern, money-based construct of society, and that is why they are illegal. All that being said, I certainly don't advocate drugs for everyone.

I used to do alot of Dextromethorphan. I now limit my use to once a month, but I used to do it all the time, and BoC was KEY. One time, I took 350mgs, and then went to my friend's house to piece a blunt. I didn't know, at the time, that pot REALLY blasts your mind on DXM. Needless to say...I had an ego death, and I really thought that I had died...and afterword, no one that I knew came to my funeral, and then they forgot that I died...and then it was like they didn't know that I had died. And then for 3 hours, I saw everyone's lives unfolding without me being there to know them, and their lives hadn't changed, at all. Finally, I realized... It was all a dream! I had the same feeling of revelation that you get when you awake in the morning. I had never existed.

ANYWAY....

I started drifting back into reality (Or sleep?) and my friend had put my headphone on my ears - and apparently helped me get to his house (the friend with the blunt had to go back to work) - and what did he put on to ease my mind? The Campfire Headphase.

Boards of Canada has been among the only artists to grace my ears when high.
BoCftw :]

According to this youtube video, a dmt trip can look like this:

Has anyone had similar visuals?

Still here,
please no worries.

I was never writing a lot on Twoism, but checking every once in a while whats going on. (and still do)
And since there's still nothing new from our beloved brothers, what to talk about other than all those topics that have been already talked about.

I've learned so much the past months about how things are really are and that its all about LOVE.
The books/talks of RAM DASS helped a lot in the process to find out more about how the thinking mind functions. And then life itself teaches me every moment what its it like to be one thought away from reality and how important (& essential) unconditional love is.

If anyone wants to talk about all this or needs sources/info about it, just feel free to PM/mail me, like 'Evrox' did to remind me to come back here.

Btw. I was just meeting 2 members in person last week and we went together to the Orbital concert in Amsterdam. One of them being the key figure to my personal awakening.
And surely the Hartnolls were 'killing' us ;) Listen to the new LP, there's so much love inside it.

I wish everyone at the twoism board boundless love from the center of my heart.
And may we all be blessed with a new album from our beloved brothers in the future :) ;)
yours always(!) Olli

I've yet to take DMT but I plan to some day (among other things), in the form of Ayahuasca tea preferably so as to have a meaningful experience that lasts long enough to decipher what happens.

That being said, I don't believe I could probably listen to BoC on DMT. I would probably be all to concentrated on the effects of the trip to pay attention to anything external.

However, as some have said, I think it'd probably very nice to listen to BoC while on mushrooms. I know people who use Psilocybin mushrooms, cannabis and MDMA to enhance the music and it apparently works for them. If I take mushrooms anytime soon I should remember to throw on Geogaddi and get some Opening the Mouth and Alpha and Omega going.

Also, while on the topic of listening to Boards of Canada on various substances, I'd like to throw this out there for anyone who might be thinking doing it. I recently smoked Salvia (60x potent, so roughly med-high strength) and listened to Alpha and Omega at the same time. Specifically, it was the song I wanted to see if I could "trip out" to, like many people say Salvia does for them.

The result was feeling pretty lightheaded and sedated, with a bit blurry vision, then with Alpha and Omega playing in the background. I thought nothing deeper into the meaning of the song. It actually was quite annoying of an experience.

So, if anyone here uses Salvia regularly, do me a favor, try listening to that song on your trip and tell me what happens for you.

I'm not too big on the salvia divinorum... those trips always scare the shit out of me.

I have yet to do DMT but I want to at some point down the road.. there's no rush I suppose.
I have listened to boards on acid and since doing that it's really changed the way I look at their music, before I thought it was just chill downtempo music but now I don't even think of it as electronic music at all. There's definitely psychedelic undertones in a lot of their songs... It's mathematical but organic which to me has always been what acid trips are like.
I really want to do mushrooms again, as I've done them a handful of times but shrooms out of any psychedelic I've taken seem the most entheogenic and revealing. They tend to put me in direct contact with mother earth and remind me that I'm still in her womb lol. Next time I do them though hopefully boards will have some part in it. The song nlogax reminds me of a bad shroom trip btw

Good to see you're still around man. And so glad that you are doing fine, and found love.
You're so right, love is THE most important thing of all.

I still want to do a DMT or shrooms trip, but I'm quite scared to do it alone to be honest.
Maybe Olli, we can do it together in the near future.
I would love to have you around as you are a experienced user :-).

Anyway, good to hear from yah man.

"People just taking the chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.”

Beautifully said :)

I have not used psychedelics in months, meditation has been more than sufficient to fulfill all need for spiritual growth.

Personally, DMT has never been a very special drug for me. I think maybe it's a bit over hyped, or maybe it just doesn't do the same thing to me as it does to other people. I never got an ounce of spiritual growth from it, having tried it smoked, snorted, and orally via ayahuasca. I never listened to boards on this stuff, though I did listen to Hammock throughout the ayahuasca experience and it was simply magical. If you're looking for chemically enhanced BoC, LSD + Geogaddi is an amazing combo.

Oh, and look at the date. Happy Cycling, Twoism 8)

Tool is up there with boards, two bands I really respect and appreciate to have their music in my life. Also two very reclusive and mysterious ones lol. But yeah I agree, and I'm sorta getting to the point where the drugs are bringing me to the same kinds of places I was about two years ago. That's nice every once and a while just to be back there, but there's only so much that chemically altered states can offer. I think after this summer I'm gonna sign off from being a psychonaut :D
