I don't know if you guys have seen the remake of Solaris...

...but, it's a pretty decent film. Total mindfuck, for sure.
My point is, the first time I watched it I fell in love with the music. If you've seen it, then you know what I'm referring to. Anyway, took me about a year to track down the OST, and it's a score by Cliff Martinez. I felt compelled to share it with you guys, so check it out if you get a chance.
Here's a taste of what I mean.
P.S. If you smoke pot, definintely turn this record on.

Solyaris, the first adaptation of the book, is one of my favorite films.

one of my favourite films ever, as it happens. The film stands on its own, the soundtrack turns it into a total work of art. A completely exceptional symbiotic vision from director and composer.
What's really amazing is that Martinez was once a member of the red hot chilli peppers, and now making this absolutely blissful stuff with a totally unique sound. Another little mindfuck.
The tarkovsky version is good and has some interesting music as well, though in my opinion Soderbergh has really nailed it.

Aha awesome.
I really like the remake, I tried watching the first one (in Russian) while I was extremely high and didn't understand a single thing.
I saw the remake first however, and I remember trying to sample the excellent music from it when I first started making music. Once scene stuck with me particularly for the music.
I think i'll try and nab this sound track and sample it now that I know what im doing.
[edit]the music from that clip sounds like it was played on a hang drum

I love that instrument![/edit]

I quite enjoyed the original, as well. But the remake just really hit a soft spot with me. Plus, love me some Clooney.
