Strange Music Phenomenon

Have you ever looped a single song or track (works best with a single song) and then gone to sleep while it loops?
It's the most bizarre thing!

Once I wake up (while it's still looping) it sounds COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Maybe it only happens to me. It's bizarre because the lyrics are the same and the notes are the same, I mean of course the song hasn't changed, it's my perception that changed. I think as a result of it looping so many times while I'm sleeping, my perception of the song gets thrown WAY off. The instruments change, the rhythms sound different, the melodies are different too. It's like my brain erases my old perception of it to use as a reference point. It's a truly remarkable thing to experience.

I don't experiment with it because it can ruin a good song. Sometimes it can take a week before I hear it like I used to.

Has this happened to anyone else here?
If not, then try it and tell me what happened. If it does for you what it does for me then prepare to be shocked.

Oh yes...I've done this. Then again, when anything wakes me in the middle of a deep sleep, my mind goes to some dark places. Probably a lot to do with brainwave activity.

How about this: Ever get up in the night, walk into the bathroom and stare at your face in the mirror...in the dark?

Well, don't! lol

Well these kinds of things happen to more than just me I guess. Why doesn't anybody talk about these things? I tried googling about my phenomenon and found ONE result about it.
I think there may be something to this. The bizarre stuff your brain does between sleeping and waking, like a mental bermuda triangle. The time when you're still half-asleep but walking around. They say you don't truly wake up for an hour after you get out of bed.
I haven't tried the face thing though.

I often write song and go to bed really happy thinking "thats the best thing ive ever wrote" only to wake up the next morning, play the song and for it sound like utter crap. There's not usually any drugs involved when im writing so I am always confused when this happens

Oh man, that totally happens to me too. When it doesn't, then I know I did a good job.

i've never did it before, but perhaps i would do it with a song that i'm not familiar with, or with a song that i'm not sure if i like yet. i'd hate to ruin a good song like that. it's the same reason why i never use songs for my ringtones.

i have went to sleep with the radio on and woke up with a song i'd never heard before stuck in my head. it was the strangest thing. i had to listen to the radio all day and wait for that one song to come on so i could i figure out what it was.

^^^ Yes, face can melt, it can make you look like you're a different person, etc. Depends how long you can stare at it for. Nightmare mode:::: flick the lights on and off every second or so while staring into your own eyes as wide as you can. I can never last more than two minutes

Anyhow I get this feeling when playing a really long ambient track, (completely changes into a different type of ambiance o_O), and I usually don't have to be asleep for long for it to be bizarre upon awakening again. I'm a really light sleeper, so when music is playing I'll generally wake up minutes after I fall asleep and feel this strange audio sensation.

I do this pretty much every night, and I've been doing it for years. Biosphere is the best for doing this.
