OK so to preface this: I have been a BOC fan for a LONG time. So much so that I owned all their releases, downloaded all their live tracks, had a bumper sticker on my car, told everyone they were my favorite band (because they were) etc... You get the point. Geogaddi bothered me in some aspects - yes - but after reading the interviews about the post 9/11 situation some of the dark undertones seemed logical (in a messed up way). Now we have some obsucure Red Moon reference (with a "secret code, wooohoo) no one knows about that everyone is obssesed with (which is a form of mind control and is their intention) and 1000 times worse a trailer is just released with "kill 666" basically.

I have had it. It is old. I'm sick of it. Their music is good but they just flat out pissed me off with this. I have literally thrown away everything I have related to them and I'm done with it. Before you go off and say I'm over-reacting - remember how much I liked them. I know everyone thinks all the stuff they are doing is a gimmick and it is funny but where does one draw the line? Seriously. Ask yourself this? I know this will have zero effect on anyone else on this board which potentially proves that you have been brainwashed by them - but what if instead of "kill 666" in the trailer they had some old nostalgic home video from the 70s someone filmed of molesting a chid? Would you still write it off as a gimmick? Shock value? Its easy to justify anything if you let your mind go there. That is all that song "The Devil Is In the Details" is about - flat out mind control where you just relax and give yourself over to them. They even admit it by the lyrics of that song and now it is becoming so much more evident. My point is somewhere we have to just say this is ridiculous. Where is your line? You should ask yourself this. What if - by some small chance - they turned out to be some crazy murder cult and you were just jamming to their music the whole time? I know they have said they are not but what if?? Its obviousl by contradictions in their past interviews they are more than willing to lie. Obviously no one knows anything about them. Maybe my reaction is the kind of reaction they want but with my reaction they are losing money if nothing else because they have lost a fan. I enjoy music and have hundreds of albums of every type but it sucks these guys have to produce such good music and then ruin it . LIterally ruin it. Anyway have fun with them but this is my last post and I'm done with them. By the way I have friends that used to be into them greatly as well but have lost interest recently as I have due to the aforementioned. I'm sure many other people will feel the same. Of course after the latest trailer we can see that everything they said about them now wanting the "music" to be the focus instead of the secret messages is a load of crap.

There's a whole continent of difference between a bit of numerological teasing (666, 23 etc.) and child abuse. I honestly don't see the connection, don't see how one is any logical extension of the other. I'm frankly a little disturbed that you consider us all such devoted fans that we wouldn't be appalled by something like that.

I've got no time for gimmicks. I don't find what BoC do as 'funny'. Unsettling and thought-provoking, yes. As for brainwashing us all... now *that* really is funny.

The thing that pisses me off the most is not cause you won't be listening anymore (I could give a fuck less about that) is that you threw away all your cds. If you really had most of their catolog you could've at least sold them or gave them away to someone who would actually appreciate them. That's like flushing priceless art down the toilet.

I don't think you where ever a big fan of BoC. Where is the proof in that, nobody knows you inhere! I have some incertitudes of the so called " Red Moon Reference " like some others inhere. Your theories about brainwashing and murder cults reminds me of politicians who blame artists whenever some kid commits suicide because he heeded to much to the lyrics or hidden messages in their music and that's bollocks man! I had some bad experiences in the past with band members during interviews, but i never threw away my favourite records just because they where complete assholes at that time. I think you have a serious problem with yourself so i suggest to talk about it with someone close!!!

You know, this thread could be one of those "art imitating life" things where it was simply meant to mirror the controversy over the trailer. This guy makes a "joke" and then it gets misinterpreted and causes a ruckus to break out. And like trained seals, we all go and tell this guy to go fuck off.
