I Really Really need feedback on where I'm going musically

Please? I've honestly never made stuff quite like this. It's...different. So, I need some criticism good or bad. I'm close to just aborting the idea of making an album like this and going back into my comfort zone.
(btw the samples are Jim Jones)

Thanks to whoever...
I'm also sorry if I piss off people for making a new thread. Please notify me of that too.

Well i liked it, but i guess you have to keep in mind that music like this is quite niche! But as long as your happy with what your making who gives a fuck right? Just ask yourself is this how you want to sound, how you want your vision of art to be represented? That's all that matters. That your happy with your own work. And just for record i did enjoy listening to it and i appreciate how hard it is to get some honest feedback, even at all. Good luck to you and keep us updated.

first half reminds me if the RZA and Salem some how ever decided to work together.
I hate Salem and love RZA, but together, they work in this respect.
pretty sweet. particularly dope beat.

the second half sounded like straight up witch house.

you're doing it better than anyone else though.

all you need now is a female singer to go with it and you'll have yourself witchhouse.

I think its realy great, the drums are crips, I love the sidechaining compression, and synths are warm and drifty. The synths also have a very retro feel to them, with the strong verb on them, reminds me of early warp style. The synth pad in the 2nd tune is straight up boc, realy great.

You realy have a tallent bro, its inspiring to see. You should put together an EP or album of stuff like that for sure. Just try and keep it quite raw I would say, dont try and clean it up at all, that kind of music would suit that.

Dont get too stressed about picking a new style or anything, just keep making whatever you enjoy hearing. At some point all of these sytles you enjoy will mixtogether to form something new and enexpected to even yourself. Thats when things will get seriously fun for you, like uncharted waters.

I havent listened to your other stuff for quite a while, so i'll take the opertunity to now.
Realy nice mate.

I really like this. Emphasis on 'really'. It has such a druggy tripped-out feel to it. I didn't really dig the dialogue samples but that's just me and I know they're probably meant more as vignettes than anything. Really enjoyed it though.

Thank you a lot. I've never really put much thought into making druggy music, but if it happens to be that way, than I guess it's good.

To repeat the comment I placed on soundcloud: This is breathtaking! I love it!

Everything about this sampler is wonderful. The whining synth in the first half just sucked me right in. So captivating.

I really hope you continue to make tunes like this. Great work dude! :D

The songs remind me of Roybgiv in structure in that when the song starts out, it's all very dirty and sounds kind of brash & dark, but once everything starts evolving, the mood lifts up a little bit. It's all very nice! A bit too much reverb on the last track for me..maybe start with a less prominent reverb when it's just the synth alone and then switch to the verb you use on it the entire track once the other elements start coming into the track. That way it doesn't sound like synth city & faux depth with verb. That's just me being subjective though....do how you imagine the songs to be. Send these to Warp!!!!!!! :)

I can't stop listening to the first half of that sampler. Could you please hook us up with it as a complete song by itself? I would LOVE to have that.

I'm working on it now!
(spoiler alert: so far I've added a really awesome catchy lead and a tripped out arpeggio thing.)

Oh wow! This is SO amazing! Did I already mention that you'd make a killer film score?

It's done. I'll probably release it along with an album, but I did send it to you privately on soundcloud. Enjoy!

I've actually wanted to be a film score writer since 5th grade, so thanks!

Beautiful. I think I've mentioned before that your more traditional IDM sounding stuff (crisper, more hip hop orientated beats and pads) are excellent. I enjoyed that a lot! I don't want to turn this into an equipment thread but do you mind messaging me what software you use? I need some new stuff to work with. Good job x

Plus your chord progressions are incredible
