I was fishing around web archives for simple nostalgia purposes and happened upon this page.You will notice there is a blank place holder where GEOGADDI should be in the dicography list to the left... Is this what they usually do before they release of a new album?




... Also from the same site, what does this number pyramid thing mean? Is it that fibonacci`s golden ratio?



And also just for the hell of it from the same site is an intrugingly cool flute playing illustration

I wasnt here the last time that they released anything but I gather from other members that they do leave up blank placeholders for a while. So its pretty much a given that something is coming out.

www.music70.com and www.boardsofacanda.com and www.hexagonsun.com all resolve to the same host so they are effectively the same website, so no need to check each of them.

Yeah its not entirely clear what all of the little pictures and stuff are. Im interested to know if anyone has made a collection of them all somewhere. And if not... why not!

Looks like it. The difference is, that placeholder has a release year.

ha ha ive no idea, theres probably no chance, some evidence suggests they are no fans of the internet, look at the screen shot below I took from the old web site and read the little message at the bottom after the website credits lol

That is a good advice for overspeculators

the triangle thing is called Pascal's Triangle.
basically it's got all sorts of patterns in it.
it's formed/calculated by adding the numbers above to find the number below.

i.e. etc

the lines correspond to the coefficients that form of an equation when you put (x + y) to different powers
ie, (x+y)^0 = 1
(x+y)^1 = 1x + 1y
(x+y)^2 = 1x^2 + 2xy + 1y^2
(x+y)^3 = 1x^3 + 3(x^2)y + 3x(y^2) + 1y^3
etc

the diagonals are something like n^0 for the first
x+1 for the second
x+ (x sub n-1) for the third
and it gets more and more complex as you move down

kind of surprised they didn't stop so '70' was the largest number in the triangle though.

a similar pattern is one where the next line describes the previous.

also, did some homework on it. coloring in odd numbers will yield a pattern approximating Sierpinski's triangle.
and this came up in the google image search for it. unrelated but neat.

Woah, thank you Cryabetes for clearing that up, im a mathematical retard so no hope to work it out myself.. The shape that appeared would be a hexagon wouldnt it haha... no coincidence im sure.

fun fact: according to archive.org, placeholder appeared about a year before geogaddi was eventually released. so YEAH.

If anyone ever wants it, I have pretty much all of those old images archived on my PC, somewhere..a friend did the work for me years ago and I held onto it in fear of it being lost forever. Also have transcriptions of almost every old interview, various pics from online over the years, and so forth. I know most of it has made the bocpages by now, but I should ZIP and upload it sometime cos I know a lot of fans probably have no clue of its existence.

So...raise your hand if you think this is a good idea and would like it.

Okay guys, so I guess I jumped the gun on this one. I can't find it for the life of me..and I swore I had it still! I know I kept it thru several reinstalls over the past few years, but I fear I may have sacrificed it when I was in college and didn't have the space to save it, as I didn't have my external HD at the time. It may still be on a backup CD somewhere in my house so I'll keep looking. I'm as pissed about this as anyone on here probably will be, so sorry for getting yr hopes up..I'll get in contact with the friend who gave me the stuff, with any luck he's still got it and can pass it along.
