Just listened. Love it. Very chilled and mellow. Has a nice wall of sound going on in some parts. But why the far away release date? WHY?

I like this as a continuation of the direction he was heading with Coastal Brake. Aquatic theme for the album title portends good things!

Really looking forward to this release.

Edit: Hours is a sweet track, I think this album is gonna be pretty good!

What Synth is the lead? I feel like it's the same one from Bocuma..? This is REALLY nice.

On a related note my brother just got an ISO50 print, it's sweet.

The single track "Hours" is pretty good, although he doesn't re-invent himself there. Might be cool to listen to him on vinyl though.

I like Tycho but this track didn't really do much for me. Hoping the rest of the album is better TBH.

His mixes have gotten denser and more complicated. I like the new stuff. I liked the old stuff mostly. I discovered him quite by accident 6 years ago. It's hard to believe its taken him this long to put another album out but considering how much he plays out and does with his graphic art it makes sense that it would take a while. Anyway I liked the new song and Coastal Brake a lot. I'm hoping this is going to be a good album.

I am curious, what is with the house/club 4/4-stomp beat in every genre of music these days? Is it like disco revival or something? Yuck. Is there any new music that doesn't feature this played-out bass drum thumping? It makes me nauseous. Hope the rest of his album doesn't follow suit.

I've noticed this too. Seems to be a stantard if you want to get on MTV or to be played in regular-ass-clubs. Synths are really aight on this track but yeah the drumsection is nothing new. Miami'sh vibe..drums and bass from let say Adrift would fit there perfectly.

*Edit* This is aurally delicious. I really enjoy the tweaks made to the tracks that were already released as singles, giving them new life. New tracks are also excellent, and a great flow to the album.

call me picky, but does it irk anyone else when artists release albums where nearly every song is titled one word? I mean can't you think of titles which are more than one word, really.

On the actual topic of the thread, it sounds like average Tycho, a blend of Ulrich Schnauss type atmospherics with hip hop beats.

I don't see why this should be a problem, artist pick a title they have a feeling with, and they think that suits the song, or have some emotional bonding with. To behonest, I don't even care about titles, I just listen to the music, and must say, this album is better than Tycho has ever done before, I'm actually quite blown away.

Not for me. It's a really nicely produced track and I take no issue with the drums at all, tried and tested. I just don't really click with tracks where the lead synth just feels like a substitute for a vocal, however nice it is. The sound of it reminds me of Boreal Network actually, not sure if it's the same one.

Big fan of his graphic design/artwork but his music has never done it for me.

I agree 100%. It's inspiring to see an artist release an album years later where they've honed their craft and taken the music to a higher level then their initial burst of creativity.
