Is anyone else bored with BoC? I've been interested in them since the release of Campfire, BoC has been the soundtrack to the best summer of my life, I have shed many a tear while listening to Whitewater, I'm (still) a dedicated BoCologist, ever interested to hear about new information and insights, but.. their music doesn't interest me as much anymore. Like with all music I have ever loved, listening to the same tracks year after consecutive year naturally bereaves it of it's surprise factor and beauty for me. If that new album ever drops I will buy all the vinyl, cd's, posters they put out, and I will immerse myself into reading their interviews (because it's good literature), but at this moment I never listen to them anymore and I wouldn't consider myself a true fan (in the sense that I wouldn't list them as being one of my favorite bands.. although I'm still a fan of their ideology and themes). I've just listened to them too much. I don't get that tingly feeling when I listen to their melancholia-laden tracks nor do I feel uneasy when I to listen to Geogaddi in the pitch dark anymore. Anyone else who feels the same or is the general speculation topic a realistic reflection of the undiminished fascination with BoC of all of Twoism's members?

I don't listen to them as much anymore, but they're still my favourite group.

At the moment im going through a stage where im listening to them all the time but I know what you mean, when I dont get the seansations I expect from the music I feel bored and dont listen to it any more. I find it best at this stage not to go back to BoC for a while but after say a few months, a stray BoC tune sneaks onto my ipod and catches me unaware... BAM its like the feeling of warm sunshine beating down on me mixed with a comforting cool breeze then i`m hooked again. (sorry for the cheesey description)

This has been a cycle in my life for the past 8 or 9 years.

It's the lack of a new album.


If they made something fresh I think they'd bring people back.

I tried to post a thread like this about a year and a half back and got a bunch of shit from everyone. Remember that? Of course everyone will respect Guido. I don't blame them....

You know I have gotten those feelings lately a lot as well. I too was quite worried about it for some time, but then I just realized, there really isn't much music that compares to theirs.

So that's the way I got around the "problem"

Yeah just lack of a new album has my interest declining. Meanwhile my interest in autechre is at an all time high

Although I have never "lost interest" in BoC. They're the most interesting people in the world.

You were "quite worried about it"? From the way you say it, it's as if you're legally obligated to love BoC at every moment.

Admittedly it kinda does yeah. I guess what I meant more is "I wondered why I suddenly wasn't enjoying them as much".

After 6 years everyone gets into different music. I've been getting into latin folk-rock bands like Little Joy, Devendra Banhart and Los Hermanos, but sooner or later I always revert back to listening and admiring BoC's music.

Naah man..I listen to something else for a while ( Schnauss, Hopkins, Aphex, Röyksopp, People Under The Stairs, jazz, prog..) and then Im back to BoC. Unforgettable duo.

I'm still enjoying their tracks. Like with almost everything in life, you must not overdo it. Less is more!

Getting out of the sphere of this type of music in really important when you long to enjoy it in the same way. I often find exploring types of music you wouldn't necessarily try out helps, hearing music you would at one point never consider bothering with.

Hearing Boards in new places always helps to, you instantly associate music with that moment and it becomes more exciting again.

Less is more indeed.

I would listen to BoC more if there wasn't so much other music, old and new, I also want to listen to. I could see how you would get bored of them if you limit yourself to only listening to BoC and expect a new album every day.

Luckily, I don't have that problem at all. I know them since Geogaddi but I never bothered to download the Old Tunes. Now, I just did and it's like a brand new album for me. And I still have the "random 34 tracks tape" to go. Wooptidoo.

I will admit, I am bored with the speculation of new material and my BoC Boner has become a halfy at the moment. But again, that's how BoC operates. Even though they're on WARP, they still act like they're exclusively on their own label where they don't have to answer to anyone anytime anywhere, haha. I bet a lot of musicians envy them, they don't have to promote shit, no touring, hardly any merch, very very few interviews and STILL have an obsessive fan base. They're smart.

I listen to them still. They'll always be my favorite. I don't overdo it though either. I listen to them every other day I guess and it's like 2-3 songs then something else. Lately I've been listening to a lot of 50's Rock and Roll and 60's Garage Rock. I like all kinds of music so that saves that special place for BoC for me, where I can always get that fuzzed out warm feeling whenever I hear Twoism (the song).

Good to see another AIR fan here. Always quality music from that band.

As mentioned by others, I may put BoC down for awhile, but I will always come back to them. They will always rate at or near the top of my favourite bands ever.

did AIR ever do anything else like moon safari? i haven't explored them much, but really enjoyed that album.
