why, what's wrong with the first blade runner movie? why risk fucking it all up when some exec wants more explosions in 3d? why even put it on the table? god damn it.

If we really must have sequels/prequels and remakes then I'd at least be happier if it's the original director in the chair. Although George Lucas single handedly blows that out of the water I guess.

I heard this on Howard 101's Geek Time on Sirius. And yes, sound interesting but I do hope he does not George Lucas it too.

And I'm not really getting this whole thing of redoing classics like Tron, Blade Runner, Conan.. The market is so saturated with today's CGI and fake backdrops, waaay too much CGI these days, I wonder if 20 yrs from now it'll all seem like novelty, but I guess by that time, we'll be able to do our own from home..

Still a fan of stop motion animation, scanimate...

the really fidgety, brutal, coarse computer graphics from the 80s, 90s, those are hilarious to watch.

3D animation featurettes in Europe are HORRIBLE.

Can't wait for someone to remake SW Episodes 1, 2, 3 and while at it, 6 and neuter those furballs!

And I heard that rumor about a remake of Blade Runner, it would be an epic fail, no matter who attempts it. Some things shouldn't be touched. Don't you agree we would like like a bunch of idiots going in the jungle and rebuilding aztec temples?

To be clear - it's NOT a remake. It's either a prequel or sequel as I understand it.

That'll be awesome, and I'm already wetting myself in anticipation of Prometheus.

As far as I understand it's not a prequel or sequel, just another movie in the same kind of setup.

I loved the new The Thing.

Nobody can speak for Prometheus yet but it sounds the most promising of the bunch.

I liked the new Tron better, though I have no nostalgic attachment to the old one.
