Anything? Any new angle on Boards of Canada?

Boards of Canada were villains proposed by Douglas Adams, who didn't exist until he thought them up - They brought a society to its knees by making them wait with baited-breath anticipation for their new album - unfortunately, he changed his mind at putting them in "So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish" and rewrote the parts of it that mentioned them to just be about Dire Straits.
However, they could not simply uncreate themselves, so they attempted to force the idea upon the earth, a creation that ultimately resulted in 1998's "Music Has the Right to Children", and have succeeded only mildly in bringing about a global waiting-game-standstill, mostly for people who board at Twoism.

I see what you are getting at, but this here is really about what does exist.

I would say mostly speculations exist. The only legit updates we've seen are the 'facebook, myspace, twitter' posts and of course the infamous Black Box. BoC nor Warp has confirmed any new material or release dates. MDG has made posts and has even answered Questions from me and many of others through PM about a possible new album from BoC.

In a nutshell he said, "It has been nearly at release stage for a while but several external factors have held it up. There's nothing sinister, just logistics and life."

I really can't think of any other major new updates other than that at the moment.

In my opinion I wouldn't expect any new release from BoC till 2012, if that.

I apologize then, the topic wasn't very descriptive about what you were getting at...

But talking about the music side of it? If you really wanna know what they're about read these interviews! They are a great read and very interesting:

In some of those they talk about why they started making music, how they craft their music and all of their influences too.

My thoughts:

They are about making real down to earth honest music. I believe that they do not care for mainstream fame and fortune but rather living a good life and enjoying what they create. I don't think they are too worried what their fans think either. I think they music for their own enjoyment rather than for their fans. If I am making a sandwich, I am going to make it the way I want to, I don't care if you like what I put on it, if it tastes good to me than that's all I care about. Same goes for music. Of course I do not know them and do not know exactly why they do what they do so my opinion doesn't mean jack shit I guess, but I'd like to think that's why they make their music.

I have noticed a direct correlation between the lack of human evolution and the release of a new BoC album.

I am interested in what you might think, and anyone else too.

I have already read some very interesting information about cookware and Douglas Adams.
The subconscious is trending here. Can we get to the heart of the matter?

I liked to watch National Geographic documentaries as a child. Other children said they were boring, that they would rather watch a cartoon. I liked them. Sometimes there were women without shirts on in them. One time I was watching one with women without shirts on and I got an erection. Father came home and saw this, and yelled at me. He took off his belt and took me over his knee and hit me on my bottom with it. I screamed. He hit me so hard I bit my tongue through until it bled, red spots on the brown carpet. When Father saw this, he got me a washcloth, cold from the well water, and put it in my mouth to help stop the bleeding. He asked me if I understood what I did wrong. I said yes. I recently read L. Ron Hubbard's book on Dianetics. It's actually quite good for drinking games. One of those is to drink whenever you see something like "it is a scientific fact", "susceptible of proof", "supported wholly and completely by laboratory evidence", "strictly test tube", "a laboratory fact", "tested and rechecked and tested again", "as real a discovery as gravity" &c. Funny stuff.
