Late to the Plaid party

Finally, finally succumbed to the delights of Plaid. Not sure what took me so bloody long, but anyway. Here I am.

scintilli has blown me away and I've just bought the album. Stuff like 'founded' has me craving more. Now where do I go? (sure, 'backwards' is a valid answer but more specific is useful ;) ) Your Plaid recommendations please..

Went and saw them (way) earlier tonight! I don't have much else to say. Plaid is good for you.

really like the new album (and saw them live in my home town recently!).
I've found some of thier albums abit samey, all good stuff but i like an album to take me to different places which is why my favorite is rest proof clockwork (which ive just managed to obtain on vinyl on ebay for £8!), lots of different styles and all really well done (my favorite track is the sublime "ralome").

Another shout for Rest Proof Clockwork - (was listening to it last night by coincidence)

I think it's probably the most accessible Plaid album.

After that I'd say go with Double Figure.

Or maybe their soundtrack works - they're probably closer to Scintilli in some ways.

Greedy Baby has a few nice tracks on it too, though is probably darker in tone like Not for Threes.
Spokes is fun too :) sounds quite similar to early Black Dog - which you might also want to check out.

Also I think Kettel and Mrs Jynx sound a bit like Plaid in places if you want/haven't checked them out ?

Double Figure is the album that got me into Plaid and it's probably still my favourite.

Agree 100% on Ralome. Amazing track.

Interesting reading everyone's favorites. I too just recently got into Plaid, and hands down my favorite effort by them is the Heaven's Door soundtrack.

Agree with Little Cloud; I do find their albums to be "samey", but they do have some quality stuff.

Thanks for all your great advice. Have been flitting back and forth to the Heaven's Door soundtrack this weekend, it's a grower. I think it's the darker stuff I'm leaning towards..

The P Brane EP from 2002 is my favorite Plaid release. It features my favorite Plaid track 'Stills'...

Doesn't get much better than that.
