Hyperdub boss Kode9 has announced via his Twitter feed a new EP from the South London producer, entitled Kindred:
“HDB059 Burial – Kindred EP. Join Hyperdub mailing list for news. Vinyl/digital and def less than 25quid”
There hasn’t been anything about this sent to the Hyperdub mailing list as yet, but we’ll update you as soon as there is. Kindred will be Burial’s first original solo material to see the light of day since the Street Halo EP, released back in March of this year. In the interim he remixed Massive Attack for a limited edition 12″ release, and collaborated with Four Tet and Thom Yorke on a 12″, ‘Ego’/'Mirror’ for the former’s Text label.

I was listening to Burial yesterday, wondering when he's going to release something new. Hopefully an album will follow not long after.

Saw the update from Hyperdub this morning! I obviously couldn't anticipate something as much as a new BoC album, but this is up there...!

I think Hyperdub (or the broadcaster) has been going after Youtube accounts that have posted clips of the stream. The first 3-4 I tried had already been shut down. I would just go ahead and search for it on Youtube. Probably someone has reposted.

Just got the 180g vinyl.. very disappointed though that there is no mp3 download with the purchase. As I don't have a turntable at the moment. Still it seems pretty standard these days to have a download code included with a physical purchase. This kinda blows.

Yea, I think labels are missing a trick here... I think Ninja Tune and Warp do this via Bleep but it does seem crazy to have to pay for music twice. On the plus side the download is only £2.50 which isn't bad for a 30min EP.

Yeah both Bibio and Tycho had downloads included in the purchase of the vinyl which I really appreciated. In most cases its not easy to rip the vinyl and then listen to it in the car etc.
But considering how many people don't pay for any music at all.. I really feel that the purchase of physical media such as vinyl really ought to include a download link as well. I was just surprised that it wasn't included.

If you bought the vinyl, just pirate the digital. Right? You payed for it.

That's what I did. I shoved out $15.95 for the vinyl with shipping. Fuck if I'm going to pay for it twice.
RECEIVED MY VINYL TODAY!!!!

After several days trying to incorporate this EP into my system... I can safely say it's stunning. It may be one of the most moving electronic music I have ever heard, other than BOC and some selected few.
