Do you guys buy full band discography's

Like if a band or artist has released 8 albums that you love and own, but then they release one that you don't like will you still buy it just to complete your collection?

I do this but recently i've been thinking and asking myself questions like what's the point of owning music you don't like? Wasting money?

What do you guy's think?

I guess once upon a time, when all releases were physical, this may have been the case. Not only because you'd like to complete a collection or whatever, but also because buying an LP would often be the only way you'd get to hear it. No try before you buy.

So as far as downloads are concerned, if I stream an album and don't like it, I won't be buying the download, and I really don't think I'd buy any available physical format either.

I download alot of music but I buy the albums I like as well. I wouldn´t buy cd´s just because it´s from an artist I like, I don´t care about owning discographys.

Well, I guess this only would be the case with BoC, I would buy everything they release.

I used to find it hard to let go of a band that I had followed from the start... but it has gotten easier now I'm older. Pre-downloads and streaming it used to be so much harder to spot if an artist had made a rubbish album without paying for it to find out. R.E.M. did it twice to me. First with Out Of Time and then with Up. Hated both those records but had to buy the CDs to find out.

Very very few artists are truly great for more than an album or two. It's healthy to keep moving on, listen to new bands and not get stuck with same artists and records forever. It's a natural life cycle and it's okay to let bands you once loved become obsolete.
