I just noticed that someone added two featured channels on the official Boards of Canada YouTube page. The first is the Meat Beat Manifesto official channel and the second is a video artist called "The Forger".

Apparently, The Forger is an alias of Ben Stokes, who provided visuals for Meat Beat Manifesto's 2010-11 tour and has also directed music videos for artists including Nine Inch Nails and The Orb. Do you think maybe he is collaborating with BoC on a music video?

They also added the version of 747 from Random 35 to their list of favorite videos. However they did so under the name 5D either implying or confirming the song on Random 35 is called 5D and not 747.

EDIT: Someone explain to me why Meat Beat Manifesto would have a five and a half minute video of exploding heads.

It's quite a comprehensive montage.

I saw these a few days ago and there was some pretty entertaining stuff there. It's fun to see boc show their tongue and cheek side.

Olson Version 3 and Twoism were also added to their video list. The Twoism video is pretty cool.

Also, Seven Forty Seven as heard on the Warp20 release is a remixed combination of both Audiotrack A06 (aka "5d") from the Random 35 Track Tape, and 747 which was a short clip heard only on the old boc site from 2002.

I am aware of this. My point was that through their official YouTube channel they have either intentionally or unintentionally named an unnamed and unreleased track on Random 35 as 5d. There are no other unnamed songs on that YouTube page although there are unreleased tracks. The implication is that Random 35 contains tracks from albums like Closes and the band has confirmed this through their YouTube channel as opposed to MDG calling the album "a mystery, just a mixture" but not indicating what the mixture actually consists of. This begs further clarification.

My personal intuition (or hope perhaps) is that the inclusion on their feed is a subtle confirmation, though something I wonder is how the person who posted the video knew it was 5d, even being bold enough to include the title in the video and mention Closes in the description.

He most likely got a fake version of Closes on the internet just like everyone else. He has had it pointed out to him in the comments section of the video that it is not 5d as the community understands it but has never responded to the criticism.

This little change to their youtube page made me realize that I hope deep down to Stupid Zombie Christ that BoC is going toward the same direction as MBM with their new stuff. I mean, my favorite work (on either Geogaddi or MHTRTC) was their darker stuff, and I loved their vegetarian soup mix of Prime Audio Soup.

Here's to hoping. By the way, Quietus on the MBM page was nice, and the accompanying video was a treat.
