I recently got my hands on a copy of this, and im suspicious of something. The insert within mine looks a little funny possibly boot legged. It has a pixelated look, I dont know if its supposed to look that way or if the bastard who sold it to me kept the original insert and scanned and poorly printed a copy of it.

So, if anyone owns a copy of this themselves can you check out your insert and tell me if it looks pixelated and a little choppy as well.

Sorry, im sure this sounds lame as hell but as a collector of boc's stuff, it matters to me.

I have just boght a copy of Aquarius and I don't see anything pixelated about the inlay.
Have you compared yours with the picture on the official Discog site?

It could be that not much attention was paid to the quality of the print, as with the style of the cover,(the wonky sellotaped logo) and some copies aren't as good quality as others. I dunno, just musin'!

Well, that sucks. Bootlegging Records is easy to do if ya have a little cash handy. People fake rare records all the time, its rather genius. You put it on ebay, and you get a hit right then and there cause it is sooooo rare. Since not a lot of people own it, not many people would notice that much, they are just thrilled to own it!

BTW these are really high res images so the pixelation is what you actually see when viewing the insert.
Now im not really worried about the record itself being a bootleg, it has a used look, the sleeve has the original skam sticker with the brail the whole thing looks aged, everything but the insert. If the rest is a bootleg id really be surprised. However something ive never read but noticed is that the end of chinook is a locked groove. Anyone elses like that? Cause I havent seen that written anywhere.

I just checked the discogs image mine is identical in every aspect from the black specs next to the one guys head and in the girls hair to the faded address (faded in the same location exactly) The pixelated look is obviously visible on mine because its a shitty print off, though its not visible really from a distance. To make sure all the inlays didnt look that way I checked xltronics image, which is different. So the asshole just printed a copy of the discogs inlay and stuck that in the sleeve. Well, aside from that im fairly certain this is a legitamate copy of the record, so atleast I have that.

Keep in mind that your copy of the record might not be real too. people can copy records well if they know the right people.

I paid 111$ for it which isnt to bad, ill post images of the record and sleeve if you'd like to judge for yourself because im fairly confident that its real. It has an aged look that can't be duplicated, it looks like its been sitting in someones basement for years. Also I think that if the whole thing was a bootleg that the insert wouldnt be done so badly, because the rest of the package is extremely well done if its a fake, the record and the jacket look incredibly authentic, sounds authentic, as it has static and pops at the beginning of both (its worn not in EX condition as was described). And as I was saying^ if the record were to be done so well to such an extent, i dont think they would screw up the simplist thing to bootleg so badly, the insert. =(

There is no locked groove on the end of Chinook on mine.

Sorry if it's a silly question, but are you sure it's not a very well placed scratch?!!

Strange, cos it sounds like you have an original copy that seller tried to pass off with a fake inlay.
That is definately a fake by the way, and a terrible one!

$111.00 bucks? Thats not a bad price, if it is real. Fuck, the promo of MHTRTC went over $180.00 on ebay.

I never pay that kind of money for any record. But i'm always on time when it comes to new releases i like! And that's for over 30 years now.
