They're just a clone. A good one at that, but nothing more. If you read the General Info it says the members are "matt and eric".

Honestly, I think as long as you're making music you like, I don't think originality should be a factor, though creativity should. They sound a lot like Boards of Canada, but there's definitely creativity.
