Beach House, anyone?

I heard Teen Dream when it came out and didn't thought much of it, in the same way that I didn't thought much of Geogaddi back in the day, or any BoC for that matter until it finally made sense to me. So not long ago, several months after they released Bloom, I finally stumbled across Lazuli ( and the sheer beauty of the track made me listen to the whole album. It took me several listens to get into it but eventually grew on me, so I went back to Teen Dream, and again it took me several listens to get into it but now both of those albums, and Beach House themselfs, have become one of my favourite current music.
Does anyone here share the love? I haven't seen them mentioned around here.

Love em, seeing them live in November - can't wait!
My favourite album is probably Devotion, such a beautiful album, especially the track Turtle Island. Teen Dream is probably the best to start with, really strong melodies and lovely vocals =]

I'd say Devotion is their best as well, and is not a bad album in itself for starting with by any means. All of the Beach House albums are pretty accessible.
Any opinions on Bloom?

I'm still trying to get into Devotion but both Bloom and Teen Dream keep grabing my attention still. Is like trying to get into Hi-Scores while still being in awe with MHTRTC I believe.
Up until very recently I thought Bloom was much better than Teen Dream but now I just think they're both pretty much equally great, the difference being than the latter is a little more upbeat and grounded. In that regard I may choose to listen that album on certain ocassions and Bloom in others. In the same way I can never say which BoC album is my favourite but I can choose one over the other to accompany me depending on my current mood.
On the other hand, I think that although Bloom is gloomier and therefore can be somewhat a little draining, it has selected moments of compressed or highlighted emotions, such as in Lazuli, Wild and some others. On the contrary, I feel like Teen Dream is more stable emotionally. But it may just be me.

I'm following them since the first album, I really love the two first release, I like the third and don't like Bloom. I really prefer their first athmosphere. Devotion is certainly my favorite.
I seen them during the teen dream tour they were pretty good , if you can see them go get a ticket.

Y.E.S. Victoria's voice is amazing! (I actually thought it was a male singing because of how full it is)!

Love them so much.
I seem to be one of the few people who think Devotion's their best, though.

I'm not big on Beach House, but one of my favorite bands is influenced by them.

I'm a huge, HUGE Beach House fan! I think I know every word in every single one of their songs..
What I like about them is that all their songs are very individual and unpredictable. Lover of Mine is on my top ten most beautiful-songs-list:
Planning on going to their live show in Oslo in November, Holy Other will be playing at the same show and that's a big plus.

Saw them a few years ago on the Teen Dream tour--a great show.
I love Teen Dream and the one before it. Still haven't heard Bloom, need to purchase it.

New. Amazing.
Still a HUGE fan after all these years. Saw them on the Depression Cherry tour and is easily one of the best sets I've ever watched.

Saw them just before Teen Dream came out, and fell in love with Norway immediately: "This is our spiciest song." I think Devotion has been overshadowed, but Gila is another favorite. I think I got a little less attached from Bloom on, but I would love to see them live again.

Love me some Beach House. I first found out about them from the music video Eric Wareheim did of Myth.
To me, nothing tops Bloom. It's immaculate, imo.

Since this got bumped I just want to say I kinda let go of this band during the Depression Cherry era. Having two albums drop the same year was not good for me, specially because I didn't got into any of those two albums. I liked Lemon Glow but 7 just didn't clicked for me unfortunately, same thing happened with these new tracks.. I still love and listen to Devotion, Teen Dream and Bloom though.
