I hope to finish my speakers before the album is going to be released.
If so, then I'll blast my neighbours away with their new album.
After that I'll listen to it on headphone.

I'll continue this for about a week and then I won't play the record for about a week.

I'll probably upload it onto my ipod and then run off into the woods and hide, hopefully to return as a changed man. But seriously though, I will try to absorb the music before going nuts with all of the weird references that are sure to be there.

I plan on turning the lights out, lighting some candles, maybe drink a few beers, and get taken away by the music.

Actually, fuck that, I think I want to be sober to remember the experience completely.

I dunno probably i'll just play it as soon as i get it and that's it(i guess for many many times ).

I'm going to wear my headphones like this for the full experience.

The thought crossed my mind to get some acid or mushrooms for the first listen. But I would like to remind you that I have'nt done drugs like this in probably 4 years. I'm on perscription drugs for anxiety disorder along with antidepressants. I don't know if I'll start to whig out cause I have'nt done them in so long, but I could'nt think of a better way to trip than listening to the new album that we've all waited for, for so long.

And if all goes well(if I do trip) I'm kind of scared that the music will sound so good fucked up, that whenver I listen to it sober it will sound like shit. Any advice?

First of all I would not advise you to take any acid at all. Simply because you don't know if it has a positive or negative influence towards the drugs you already take.

If you really want to do it no-one can stop you I guess...In that case try to delay it untill you heard the album a lot of times and almost heard it too much, in other words: no suprises in the music anymore. Then it can't be bad it only can give the album a new course.

Whew! I thought I was the only one here who likes to eat LSD and listen to Boards. (If I could only combine the two in a live show, now that would be a dream come true.)

I can guarantee you that the music will NEVER sound bad because you took acid, even on the first listen. Chances are, you will always hear it a bit more closely and in detail than others because your first exposure was such.

As far as the prescription drugs you are on, you said anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs correct? I take this to mean an SSRI (like Prozac) and some sort of Benzodiazapine (valium, zanax, etc).

I'm no doctor, but the major complication I could see would be with your SSRI, or Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor. As you probably know, the primary neurotransmitter associated with psychedelic drugs is Serotonin. The SSRI's that your taking allow more serotonin to be available in the synaptic cleft, therefore exerting more of their "feel good" type effects--the point of anti-depressants.

The potential problem would be that you could A) trip really hard, because you have more available serotonin or B) the next day you may crash particularly harder than some, because since you burned up so much serotonin on your trip, there will be much less than normal for a day or two afterwards. This is particularly true with MDMA or ectasy, be careful with that.

As far as your anti-depressant goes, no real potential health problems to worry about, the worst thing would be that it would make you trip less hard. In fact, many people use them as a "landing gear" for a mellow come-down when on psychedelics. Or if you are having a bad trip and just want it to stop, they can be taken as a kind of off-switch.

That being all said, I think I'm going to load the new album on my iPod, take a couple doses, and go loose my mind for a while.

I'm on effexor for depression(not sure if it's an ssri?) and buspar for anxiety. My doctor refused to give me benzos and I'm kind of glad cause i've seen a lot of my friends become addicted. The buspar is'nt really doing anything and I don't know if i'm gonna stay on it. But the effexor I really believe I need, I went 3 days without taking it once and almost had to go to the hospital.

As far as mixing lsd or mushrooms with my perscription drugs, I don't think it will be a problem, as I've been on similar meds for years. Although I do get extremely depressed after the comedown, but i'm fine after a day or so. The only problem now is finding the shit. I don't know anyone anymore around here that can get ahold of it. I talked to my sister about sending me shrooms through the mail from California, but it seems a bit risky. If anyone want's to discuss further PM me.(or just post here, whatever)

Believe it or not, I've only tried illegal substances (shrooms) once. I just happen to have a variety of facts and semi-useful knowledge on hand.

For me, 6am in the woods would be perfect, and on acid would be even better but...i'm not allowed to do it anymore, and you never know what surprises the album will have in [subliminal] store, it could be dangerous for my little mind.
