My 15 year old daughter the other day asked me why I was playing the music from Backrooms.

I think her tongue was ever so slightly in her cheek, but it made me a proud dad.

Damn you to hell for youe Tycho comment, man! That cuts to the bone. (For the record, I did like Tycho until he went full band with Dive and descended into Coldplay levels of mediocrity.)

It never fails to bring a mistyness to my eyes. For that alone I love it, calculated or not.

I just never dug BOC tracks with glossy, 80s synthpop vibes. The middle of TH drags for me for much the same reason. I immediately just see some guy with a Miami Vice pastel suit complete with rolled up sleeves.

Biosphere definitely used a lot of Twin Peaks. Most notably Major Briggs on Hyperborea, and The Giant on The Things I Tell You.
