Check out Susumu Yokota. Grinning Cat is a good album to start with. His experimental stuff is pretty awesome.

this is a timeless classic that i dont hear discussed too often.
future sound of london - lifeforms

say what you will about it being dated and whatnot. but its an organic, beautiful, and somewhat challenging masterpiece.

never really enjoyed Grinning Cat to be honest- absolutely love the "Sakura" album tho- especially the "Kodomotachi" track

Frank Zappa - check out the album 'Make a Jazz Noise Here'.

Took me a few years to fully realise how awesome this album is, but it's worth it! Also... it'll be a bit of branching out !

Caveat: REQUIRES a good sound system for listening; this just does not carry for shit on any kinda portable music player, no point even trying

yeah, brilliant ambient stuff. i love how both discs are like single continuous pieces. you get two journeys. so good.

my music. listen to the music i make. it's the best of all the bands mentioned thus far by a wide margin. i am invincible and can shit cupcakes at will. i also have the power of flight and my music can impregnate mature wallabies at only 24dB. i have over two million dollars and a yacht and a flying ship that can camouflage in the clouds. i spend winters naked in the woods with a pack of wolves who treat me as their leader.
