Nice work on the Warp shop freebies (that enamel Warp20 badge looks nice, didn't get one of those). I got a discount on the tote bag when I bought my BoC tee in Sheffield.
I once got a Plaid sticker from WarpMart. Plus the BoC stickers they've given out with everything BoC post Geogaddi. I think one of the best freebies I have ever heard of anyone getting from Warp was the MHtRtC promo CD, no case (let alone inlays), a few months prior to release. Can you imagine that happening these days...?!
The HMV site: it's only now they're saying the box set is a pre order. Perhaps they were working to the original release date when I placed my order (a week ago). At least it's not too long a wait, I suppose.
yeah, the freebies certainly seem to have dried up of late. my purchases haven't exactly been little tiny £5 or £6 purchases either, you know, the kind of purchases where you would definitely not expect to get a freebie.
but i dunno, those people who ponied up the £91 or £100 for the box set direct from Bleep could've been given at least a freebie Warp20 sticker too!
the promo of MHTRTC sounds too good to believe! that could arguably be the best ever freebie given by a label

mine just landed as well. you will be pleased.
the box is really NICE!
Good to hear it man. I'll be holed up in the studio for several hours tonight for sure (with a good cup of tea and a cat or two for lap warming). Especially looking forward to Bibio's take on Kaini and the exclusive Autechre and Fly-lo tracks. (:
in my opinion the entire box was well worth the money. absolutely fucking awesome. every track on the unheard discs is ace. i love bibio's remix. im pretty sure he surpassed the original for me, but its a different type of song now. i do think its a bit short though.

isn't there supposed to be an 'individual-numbered' stamp somewhere??
can't seem to find it.
good question! i was just looking at mine when i thought. wait a minute.. werent these numbered? but who knows, i get details like that mixed up all the time. i dont remember anymore if they were supposed to be.
Only given it a single listen so far, but disappointed by the Bibio cover. It's too faithful, note for note almost; I'd have preferred he taken some liberties with it.

But how far can you take a cover or remix? Given that the original is just a single synth line, I don't think he could do anything but include the melody note for note. He's taken the original and made it his own. As soon as it's not recognisable, it's no longer a remix IMO. If we're talking about being too faithful, how about Luke Vibert's LFO? It makes a mockery of the idea of this CD. And worst of all, it's lazy.
HMV site is 'out of stock' for the second time in 10 days and I've still not received mine. Wondering if I should place the order elsewhere. Has anyone had any luck with a supplier other than Bleep?
