I think the 'secret weapon' is somewhat of a hoax. It's probably just their IMAGINATION!!

originally i had this fantastical idea that the secret weapon was this huge analog synthesizer - which many fans still seem to believe it seems. whereas in theory, it just seems they have perfected sampling, sound manipulation, sample work etc. listening to their music, they are obviously perfectionist at what they do.

It's a synth. Either the SH-101 (my pet theory) or a polysynth of some kind (£100 would be a major bargain for a CS80 or 70).

Reeeeeally? What good is an imagination without equipment to create what you imagined? You have to have something to produce it. Weather it's you recording spoons clinging or your cock flapping on the table.

I knew they said something about a synth. Of course they are talented musicians, and blah blah blah they are the second coming and this and that, but for the musicians on here, some of us wonder what they use, what's wrong with that?

Thinking about it, perhaps the "secret weapon" is a Korg MS-20? Listening to some of their sample manipulations they seem to be doing something with the filters on it.

In 1988 the MS-20 would have been deeply unfashionable as the manufactuers were trying to flog Roland D-50s and DX-7s. Who the hell wanted a monosynth with a patch bay back then?
