Soylent night

Post by Christopher C »

wow, ive listened to the beginning of this track many time but havent taken the time to really listen to it well... this is one of the oddest boc ive ever heard. but for some reason, i like it. the Our Father prayer at the end makes it kinda creepy.

Personally, I think thier remix of 'Good Friday' by 'Why?' is the best. Soylent night is brilliant also.

I agree, its not their signature style. boc are pretty consistent with their sound, but this track is a little weak.

I disagree...the Why track is probably my favourite remix as well, next to Dead Dogs Two. Of course, it may have something to do with my love for anticon/Why

Yeah, I had never heard Why? before, so I judged it purely from a BoC fan perspective. It just seemed realy weak to my ears thats all.

Ive always heard this track on a commentary on religion. The evil undertone of the voice, the sillyness of the pitch. Ive always thoroughly enjoyed the song. Come to think, they've got a few good tracks that serve as a commentary, obviously One very important thought, energy warning, Iraq says. haha. Good stuff, very direct commentary, to the point and well executed.
edit: had typed iraq nine.

"Soylent Night" could also be a play to the film "Soylent Green", portraying a dysotopian bleak view of the future.

I just love Soylent night. The creepyness of it makes it hard to listen to. Sort of a challenge. A good one, as I love it more and more with each listen. It has so many layers. The vocals are amazing. The 'holy night' singing starting round 1 min 10 is beautiful and eerie at the same time.

Love it!
