On The Run by Pink Floyd
why?

because it led to this conversation at the tender age of six

me:how DO they get that wibbly noise daddy?
dad: *puffs on pipe* now son, that's a called a synthesizer, it's a sort of machine that makes weird noises
me:I want a synthesizer!

and so it began

At a push I would have to say Left Side Drive.

Its because of the low/deep/thick tape drive sound underlying the whole track. I dont know how they made it but I will not give up trying to find out.

Fenix Funk 5. It's such a cool combination!!! Here's a list of things I like about it.
Obnoxious voice samples
Glitchy, Sporatic Drum sample(I llloooovvveee the hi-hat sound)
Tons of obscure layers
An awsome ambient synth that rattles my synestesia
It's just sublime! Addicting! I just can't get enough of it!

Biosphere - Poa Alpina

This song has gotten me through some tough times. And has been with me in good times as well. I fall asleep to it almost every night.

Dabrye-With a Professional. The way the pad, kick, and bass interact is awesome. So warm.

Gorillaz - Dracula
Boards of Canada - Satellite Anthem Icarus
Magic City from the Sim City 3000 soundtrack

Each of these take me to a beautiful place on a regular basis.

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata

Because it introduced me to the endless deepness that music can be... when I was in 7th grade (12-13 years old). The song/piece is still complete magic to me. Masterpiece!

Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me) - It's the soundtrack to one of my favourite films of all time, The Breakfast Club.

Boards of Canada - Rue The Whirl - The last 2 minutes 30 seconds are just unbelieveable, so nostalgic, gets me teary.

"A Warm Place" by Nine Inch Nails.

probably the first "ambient" song i ever heard. it's still haunting and beautiful some 15 years later. there will always be a special place in my heart for this song.

sigur ros - svefn-g-englar

because its so amazingly other worldly and beautiful that makes your heart skip a beat every you listen

aphex twin - rhubarb

makes dying a little bit easy

stars of the lid - even if you're never awake

saddest song i have ever listened to. the part when the keys come in stops me every time.

this mortal coil - song to the siren

elizabeth frasier's best vocal performance. strong, earnest, heart felt, magical, amazing, even her breath takes make for so much effect. brilliant.

Carly Simon - Why. The whole track is so perfectly put together; boss reggae chops, sweet bassline, tasty pads, awesome hook, sick groove. There's never a time I couldn't listen to it.

Oh and Army Dreamers by Kate Bush. the waltz timing is fucking inspired and the way it's such a childish, almost nursery rhyme like melody with a strong message behind it.

hmmmmm tough choice. I'd have to say: 'With Arms Wide Open'- by Creed....but all their albums are good. Insane Clown Posse's 'Homies' is a very close second.

here's one of my faves:

MORT
motherfuckin GARSON - IT'S EASY TO BE HARD
(humans take notice: this is possibly the ANTHEM of modern life)

it's up there in my top 20, no question, and i haven't even heard the full track ever!

...in fact, i don't even think that's its real name. STILL.

hell yeah! that and "adrift and at peace" used to be two of my favorite ambient tunes.

Have you ever tried playing Creed's 'Human Clay' and 'Music Has The Right To Children' on separate stereos at exactly the same time?? Wow, it's like a Wizard of Oz/Darkside of the Moon experience.
It must have been planned....these two albums were released at roughly the same time so it all makes sense.
