Thinking of real pop songs, I'd say;

Think she's actually pretty good, the lyrics of this song are awesome.

Whoa, takes a lot of guys to admit this lol! But in the pop world today, I think this is actually pretty good, well, at least its catchy ;p

This 1 is actually fucking awesome! From back in the days when I was like 10, listened to it a month ago, and realised it still made me get goosebumps when she started to sing

I agree with him. I used to think DJ Tiesto listeners are lame but that idea is so culturally defined. I love DJ Tiesto, within the context of trance music he is a very fine producer. Furthermore I like things like Gigi D'agostino (alot), Justin Timberlake (very well produced), many eurodance tunes and occasionally a contemporary chart tune. Metal with its growling and grunting seems to be frowned upon a little in this community, but the same applies here. Long before I ever got into any electronic music I used to be a metalhead.

Kashif - I Just Gotta Have You (Instrumental)

Heard a track by Kashif once in a Lone-mix so decided to check it out.
Pretty slick 80's style RnB with those typical funky basslines and keyboards. I'm a sucker for that sound.
I'm trying to look for more instrumental versions of other tracks too , because Kashif seems to have produced a lot of songs for RnB artists.

ABBA are awesome, I love them! Dancing Queen was like, the hallmark song of some of the best days of my life (no, not because I was a dancing queen, it's a long story)

Me too, in fact I still like to listen to some of my old death metal; Entombed, Carcass, Godflesh n' stuff, I went through a period of denying I ever listened to it because I thought it was just angry music for teenagers, but I realised there's some brilliant music in that genre after I came back to it with a more mature musical appreciation.

Same here. It's a restriction which tie oneself down actually. Taste isn't something one should be ashamed of.

good call. my guilty pleasure (i ain't guilty about it actually, but i know alot of people would be like 'whaaaat?!' if they knew i bumped it).

kashif's 1983 album is badass...ones after that start getting a little cheapy sounding IMO.
if you like that kinda 80's cheese funk, get Mtume 's 'You, Me & He' album...there's a track on it called 'prime time' that is incredible. there loads of good 80's funk actually...i got this mazarati thing awhile ago..
