Merriweather Post Pavilion

Post by saurus »

has got to be my favourite album of the year so far. I first listened to it not knowing much about Animal Collective and found it just one but mass of noise, but enjoyable after force-feeding it to myself. It hasn't stopped growing on me though, its one of those works that never ever gets boring. I saw them at Green Man too but don't remember them, like at all unfortunately.

Are there any more fans of Animal Collective or this album here?

Yeah, absolutely love that album. Strawberry Jam and Sung Tongs are cracking ones too. Looking forward to their new EP in December!

Liking the vid!

Here you can stream the entire AC performance at Glastonbury

At the risk of sounding gay, if you listen to it with good headphones, its pretty magical. I don't remember it being so good in Green Man, and not remembering it being as seamless. Can't say too much though as I was very cold, and frightened because I had taken a really bad pill. Properly wanted to see these too =/ bit of a waste.

Everything is better when listened to through a good set of headphones.
Quite like this album, "My Girls" is a stunning track.

Yes yes yes... best album of the year so far in my opinion too! I love Animal Collective, they've been one of my favorite bands since Feels. Seen them live three times and they blew me away at every single concert.
Also, they're releasing a new EP by early december, check it out cause at least four songs out of five are going to be great (Graze they've been playing since 2007, and it rocks; What Would I Want Sky and Bleed have been played this year and they rule too ; On A Highway was played on a BBC Session in 2007 and it's one of my favorite AC songs)

Absolutely brilliant album. One of my highlights for 2009, without a doubt.

Brothersport is my favorite off of that album. This album is pure excellence. It was the first album that I had listened to from Animal Collective, and I was initially very impressed with the vocal talent. I can't wait to see what fruits beyond 'Fall Be Kind'
