A wee video I made

Now this isn't like a normal fan video for BOC. It's a bit of fun and purely for a laugh.

I used Flash, Illustrator and After Effects to make a little cartoon, based on a beach party we had in the summer. it's kind of Southparky. Most of the characters are my friends so it means more to the people who were actually there.

But I thought I'd post it up here because I used an old BOC song for the soundtrack and think it goes along really well to the laid back mood... Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers! It took me ages, but i was learning after effects at the time so was a nice little project.

Yeah, I made all the vectors in illustrator, and imported to Flash. Then animated all of it. I took it into After Effects to create the fire, the glow sticks, the rain and add video footage and sound.

that was awesome dude! i like that it wasn't just a pointless little animation, but a memory and a tribute to a good time in specifics, that added a lot of charm, and seeing shots of the real thing makes it even cooler. so what is this and where's it take place?

Haha! ABW stands for The Alkies Big Weekender. It happens once a year. There's a small group of us organise it. It started as a bit of a joke but every year we try and make it bigger and better. It's in Stevenston, west coast of Scotland.

The last one we had about 130 people there. Glow sticks, lights, smoke machine, banging tunes that are all pre-picked before hand and mixed together. We also borrowed that big marque which was class, hopefully get that again next year. I design a logo for it every year and that gets made into a bebo skin which loads of people use and pass on to spread the word.

The weather really did spoil it this year though... as the cartoon shows, it was scorching all day and at about 4am there was a heavy storm! Clearing away all the shit was an absolute nightmare, but worth it.

Get a better sound system next time! lol, the sound equipment looked a bit weak.

That old amp was ideal, bomb proof and loud as fcuk. Doesn't look much but does a good job.

Just thinking you would need more of a low end bass than a guitar amp. Awesome it worked for ya though!

Yeah, think it was either a bass amp or an organ amp. We treid out a few from my mates studio, this one sounded the clearest, and was more than loud enough.
