the rhythm in You Could Feel The Sky:
saxophone getting picked up and smashed into the ground repeatedly

later the person destroys the wooden floor and falls through an endless, colorful tunnel with the saxophone in his hands

Corsair:
I see a Captain on a 17th Century Broken Warship that just escaped a hellish battle. Being the lone survivor, in a daze he stares at the horizon while gripping a blood soaked railing. (hallucinating) He sees a beautiful island full of all of his lost comrades waving him in. He jumps off the boat and swims out to sea, fading with the waves.

I usually try to draw the things I see when listening to the songs, but they usually change frequently.

Sometimes these images change dependent on my mood, but here they are as of now- there's a lot, I'm sorry, but it's now or never that I get something down for most of these songs :P (I'll make these observations as I listen to them so I can be as visual as possible- a lot of these interpretations may be odd, but hey, they're interesting and inspiring):

June 9th - Rusty futuristic environment with oil spatters here and there, minimalistic robots on one wheel chasing each other and running away from bigger rustier robots down a seemingly endless hallway with diamond textured steel walls. I find this kind of coincidental, as I noticed that the beginning of June 9th is very similar to Nova Scotia Robots-- perhaps a possibility of the derisive of the robots idea, I'm not sure.

Happy Cycling - Cycling (hurr) through images of a grey ghetto with seagulls nibbling on ground to a bright white cloudy sky and to a darker gray cloudy sky, and after that to a bright black and white ocean view that fades to darkness. This repeats as the chorus loops, then by the end the images return to the ghetto only everything is empty and clean, slightly dark- there is no trash on the ground or dirt everywhere, it's just old yet clean and pleasant.

Dayvan Cowboy - Being in the middle of the sky and drifting up to heaven with the thought of being rescued from the depression that lay under me towards earth, a gentle rain falling from the skin on my back- I feel happy and sad at the same time. When the song picks up I turn around and I see everything I'm moving away from, and everyone on earth is waving goodbye happily and I can see green plains for miles upon miles with a bright yellow sun flooding every crevice that isn't filled by bright green grass or smiling people.

Amo Bishop Roden - I don't know why, but I feel a tear almost trickle down my face and I'm full of fear when this song starts. I imagine a very dark room where an innocent man is being strapped down and beaten in the face with a hammer, and then the backside is taken and slowly pulled down his face and to his teeth, which a few follow as the hammer exits. The man is still alive though- he has a family and was happy. He doesn't deserve to die. He sits there as an exacto knife slits every possible place on his face, exposing a dying man from beneath, but he refuses to die. He's crying out of determination, not out of fear or sadness of the situation. By the end he stands up and goes home, closing the door behind him and leaving the torturer in complete darkness to see the man walking away through a small forest to his family out the bright window.

A Is To B As B Is To C - A bright green field with a blindingly white sky-- a sun that is too happy to the point where it's face is twisting and distorting the matter around it. It gets more distorted as the song progresses.

Roygbiv - Smoking, walking on an endless city street where I can see happy office workers and families crying to their companions. This repeats until 50 seconds in, to which I start walking towards a gently rolling field with a distant sunset making the sky all red and orange, and in my peripheral vision I can still see the images of the crying-because-they're-so-happy people.

Music Is Math - Sitting in the dark corner of a cold cave, on the edge of a dropoff in the cave, looking downwards. It's completely dark until the "voices" start. Three figures of graffiti style human heads stretch according to the frequency of the moans or "voices" heard in the song. Near the endish part of the song through the cave I can see a jungle and the heads engraved on all the trees the seemingly light-speed camera view is passing.

M9 - A bunch of brave soldiers full of pride and victory, strutting triumphantly towards their homes through a long field that would take days to complete the journey from end to end.

Skimming Stones - Sitting in a prison cell-like setting with a big pipe entering from the wall. Out of the tube a small stream is being emitted and stones are falling out accordingly and then making a waterfall through the apparently transparent concrete in the floor. There is a barred window in the top of the wall with very bright sun shining through.

Rue The Whirl - A man in a suit and black sunglasses is walking down a midnight city sidewalk holding a gun and smoking. He glances at people who stare at him, and the immediately turn and shy away. He evaporates slowly after the second half of the song begins, and so does the city he's in. By the end there's just a crater.

The Beach At Redpoint - a crimson red sky overtop of a radioactive water ocean with people clawing at their melting faces, then falling to the ground and melting completely. A small circular chrome orb lands and starts to slowly build up technological facilities.

Diving Station - A dying person is looking at their only son through an old photograph- they're standing on a diving board and beneath them is the bottom of a building. So they're about to dive off the edge of the building in the picture. The child is smiling happily. Soon the boy disappeared from the photo, and soon there is a police investigation crew stationed around the diving board.

Aquarius - Sitting in a cafe eating an apple and looking out and seeing that the sky is the ocean and small waves are fluttering down to earth which pedestrians jump up and sip from. The land is orange and psychedelic and relaxing. Everyone seems to be wearing "cool" casual clothing.

Peacock Tail - Very sad sounding- I imagine my first girlfriend talking and laughing with her friends and hugging a figure I cannot make out, all while I slowly flutter away until she and her friends are completely invisible. I turn around and there is a fantastic array of lights and soft trees and beams of heaven... I drift until I almost reach heaven, then I start descending again, only backwards, and soon I can feel coldness as I push through my ex and her friends.

Julie And Candy - In a vast deserted area with a rectangular sun setting in the orange sky in the background as two silhouettes hug each other and hold hands and skip around and play on swings and on teeter totters and hug each other more and more and this just repeats-- every "fun" thing I could do with someone, it loops through those types of images. Then I realize that I'm sitting on a bench that's rotting staring at them and become very sad. I turn eventually and see a giant silhouette hand which I grasp and I feel my eyes close as a tear falls and I swing around with the hand and it squeezes me into a hug and I can feel it's cheek on my head. I then feel very warm.

Sherbet Head - Being paralyzed and sitting in a wheelchair watching a fuzzy window (like a fuzzy TV) and out of it I can see little yellow candies dancing around me and an ice cream sundae I imagine is behind me. Dying people are in the other rooms of the house I'm in.

You Could Feel The Sky - Holding my hand up and having that feeling you get after having a foot that's fallen asleep and before pins and needles- that "pressure" feeling type thing in my hand, feeling it according to the sun's ray and the sky essentially. I can tell the difference between the two. I'm flying, and soon I pivot around towards the yellow clouds as I start orbiting the realm between below the clouds and above the clouds-- the earth is on both sides of it.

Ready Lets Go - Looking at an old decaying and decrepit shack in the middle of a dead and dehydrated dirty field in black in white with high contrast (like a very old black and white photo). Out of the shack I can see a very large eye that's open wider than that of a normal human's capabilities. It smiles and pulls me closer. I soon realize that it's me that's the one looking, and it's at a mirror that's on the edge of the field. I die. I falls beneath the floor to heaven (oddly enough).

I Saw Drones - Running down a very long driveway to wave to leaving friends as intruders of some sort approach from behind.

Opening The Mouth - Stretching the face of a scalped innocent pregnant teenage girl with a glasgow smile and pulling her jaw down to her neck as her spine pours out her mouth and evaporates into a mist and distorts my vision.

A Moment Of Clarity - A perplexed eye and through the reflection of the eye I can see a pleasant blue sky and a white sand dune beneath it.

Dawn Chorus - A tall lanky corpse that's walking along a patch of coals with coal factories working heavily in the background as a small child breaths loudly towards it. The figure's spine bends and eventually it falls over. Black spiderwebs form and penetrate everything. A relaxing sunset melts the webs and leaves a desolate red field.

Iced Cooly - Pretty much as the song should depict- a frosty beerglass with a bunch of patches of pearly bubbly ice around the sides and bottom rim, and the glass fills with liquid ice and pours out the bottom and I can taste it's frigidness.

The Devil Is The Details - On the moon, seeing a bunch of distorted black figures stutter out of fire towards me as their faces moan and jaws fall off when they cry.

Sorry for the extensive list, but there you have it! Most of what my mind sees in some of the songs I listen to most frequently. A lot of the images I see are the inspiration for many ideas I either sketch or or make on the computer in some way.

A is to B as B is to C makes me think about distant aliens getting to hear all the weird signals and radio waves coming from that strange planet called Earth.

Basefree makes me picture a child sitting in a mine train shooting into the abyss, hurling through tunnels and bending back and forth through all the dark and disturbing images and thoughts he's picked up over the years. The outro graphically makes me think about death.

Peacock Tail is like being guided through the rich, colourful jungle of wisdom. You gape in amazement as you discover what it really means to be alive, to be free, to be in touch with your instincts and desires.

i took some acid and listened to mhtrtc a few days ago. i told myself i wouldnt post about it because i think the whole point of BoC is for it to be taken at a personal level. but it's also fun to talk about this kind of stuff.

i cant really recount for all of it, but, some songs brought up a feeling of some kind of bond with my mom. like being a kid and being with her. other songs brought about abstract geometrical, isometric shapes, repeating in a sort of pattern. it looked like the game marble madness, if anyone has ever played that. someone mentioned roygbiv feeling like crying form happiness. i totally get that. i saw my ex girlfriend, though i'm not surprised by that one bit. the song is like this short fleeting moment of bittersweet sunlight. like a break in the clouds for a couple of minutes. a lot of it really reminds me of being a kid growing up in a shitty city and watching sesame street. wow, big surprise there!
