From twitter:
dabravanel:New Autechre album continues to haunt - more tonal than I ever thought it would be. Some tracks sound like Plaid. Really.
Hmmmm...

Edit: For those unsure, dabravanel is the journalist confirmed to have a copy of the Oversteps promo.

Man, I'm gonna' be disappointed if the new album sounds anything like Clark or Plaid.
Don't get me wrong, I love those artists, but Autechre should sound like Autechre. (whatever that means?)

I like that Sac's version allows for the instance of might or maybe. In this way its probably correct.

If AE made more like Clark or Plaid on this album it could serve to introduce more of the Warp catalog to AE fans, if that is at all true.. However the AE album will carry true signage regardless of any divergance in style. I can't believe that anyone really listening for AE would be fooled.

I imagine krylon is back-breakdancey! Can't wait for this CD!

I'm in love. Both tracks are exactly what I want from Autechre.

i LOVE autchre. but this is beyond what i would have ever expected from them. the album is immediately striking and approachable. and its so melodic but so unmistakably autechre.
